Our First English Lutheran Church Mission Trip team has had an incredible week serving in Savannah, Georgia!

One of the highlights of our trip was delivering 50 handmade quilts to Union Mission, an organization that supports individuals experiencing homelessness and provides vital community programs throughout Savannah.

These beautiful quilts were lovingly made and donated through The Day of Love, and we are so grateful to everyone who gave their time, talents, and hearts to make this gift possible. Your generosity will bring warmth, comfort, and hope to so many.

Today, we’re planning to cool off with a trip to the beach after serving in the Savannah heat- with a heat index expected to reach 105°! Then we’ll begin our journey home, spending one night near Atlanta, two nights in Nashville, and one night in St. Joseph before arriving back home on Friday.

Thank you to everyone who has kept us in your prayers and supported this mission trip. Together, we’re sharing Christ’s love- one quilt, one act of kindness, and one life at a time!

Join us for a Silent Auction to help defray the costs of a mission trip to Savannah, Georgia (Summer 2026)!
Six students from First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville are excited for the opportunity to serve, learn, and grow—and we’d love your support in making this incredible experience possible.

🗓 Online bidding opens:
➡️ 8:00 AM on February 1
➡️ Closes at 4:00 PM on February 6

💵 Details:
• Minimum starting bid: $20
• Bid in $5 increments or more
• Be sure your settings allow you to see ALL comments
• Photos of the baskets will be uploaded on Friday, January 30. 

🏆 Winners will be contacted to arrange pickup.
All items must be picked up and paid for by Friday, February 13.

⛪ In-person viewing & bidding:
Basket viewing and in-person bids will be available before and after church on February 1.
Not on social media? You may place a secret high bid, and a proxy bidder will place bids on your behalf.
