NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IN OROVILLE IS BEING CANCELED due to the state of emergency in Okanogan County. With the extreme and dangerous fire behavior, unpredictable winds, air quality, and the ongoing evacuations currently happening, we know our local first responders up and down the valley are being called upon right now to serve our county and communities.
Thank you to all the first responders from our local LE, Fire, and EMS to our local private, State, and Federal agencies for working overtime to protect and serve us all. Thank you as well to all the out of state and out of county first responders for your service as well.
Thank you to the Okanogan County PUD and all the other local resources who are serving the community in various ways.
We recognize there are local organizations and possible food vendors that may be called upon to also serve needs of our communities during this time.
Thank you to all our sponsors for this year's National Night Out. Your support is not in vain. Funds used to put this year's NNO event together, will be useful for next year's event.
Stay safe. Be vigilant. Pray for our county, communities, first responders, families who have been evacuated or have lost homes, and all those who are helping meet the needs of others during this time.
The NNO planning committee didn't come by this decision lightly, but was made with the upmost regard for the first responders working tirelessly, those serving the evacuees, and to the members of our communities up and down the valley who have been uprooted by this county-wide state of emergency.
The planning committee will be meeting Monday to discuss whether a possible re-schedule or an alternate scaled-down community event will take place. We will keep you all updated.
PLEASE SHARE TO GET THE WORD OUT! THANK YOU.
