Post-Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON has created an entire culture around unauthorized books, unauthorized and unqualified gurus, and blind followers. Ultimately, it was all Krishna’s arrangement to reveal who is who, just as in the Kurukshetra War. During the Kurukshetra War, there were many blind followers, and the opposing side was significantly greater in number because its leader was always under illusion. Ultimately, it was everyone’s personal choice whether to side with the most pious sons of the Pandava dynasty or with the opposing side. The great sages had already advised that such a calamity was inevitable because of the rejection of proper guidance, leadership, and management.

Anyway, we should always remain vigilant and pray to take shelter of the authorized and empowered Acharya rather than such pretenders, whose business is always to deceive.

The great Acharya descends into this world to give the spiritually dead a chance to associate with divinity. Yet, very few take up the opportunity to associate with him, often misunderstanding his mission and eventually altering it to fit their own whims.

Prabhupāda: Any question?
Nanda-Kiśora: What happens to a person if we just give him out on the street one Simply Wonderful or some prasādam, one piece of prasādam?
Prabhupāda: That is wonderful, simply wonderful. (laughter) He has not tasted such wonderful sweet in his life. Therefore you give him wonderful, and because he's eating that wonderful sweet, one day he'll come to your temple and become wonderful.

Srila Prabhupada : Every man should think, “I do not wish to die, but death is overcoming me. What is the cause of this? What should I do?” No one wants to die, but death overcomes everyone. No one wants to be diseased, but diseases are inevitable. These are real human problems that cannot be solved simply by making some whimsical decision. We should decide, “I do not wish to suffer, but suffering is coming upon me. Now I must find a solution to this problem.” This is the real decision we have to make. We must decide to put a permanent end to suffering—to birth, old age, disease, and death. We should understand that the body exists for a few years and then is doomed to perish. We should also understand that the body is external and that we should not make our decisions on the basis of the body. Rather, we should make our decisions on the basis of the soul.
