Many Christians are Muslim Background Believers. After they accept and follow after Jesus, they often don't get the help or discipleship they need. Most of the time they are left to face the struggle of this world in their new faith alone! We at Mecca to Christ International desire to make disciples out of those
who trusted in Jesus's name and feel left behind, giving them a true sense of community. We want to train and raise them up in the ways of the Lord to grow in the light of the grace of our Lord Christ Jesus. There are over 3000 mosques around the USA that instruct Muslims who are mostly unreached by true Christians. The lack of obedience to this commandment dawned on me (Dr. Ahmed) when I heard the story from a pastor. He told me that Muslim Imams (preachers) from the local mosques near his church are actually sharing Islam with him at his own church. Meanwhile, the churches around these mosques have never gone to these mosques and shared the gospel. My friend's story shocked me because as someone who grew up as a Muslim in Mecca, I know there is not a single verse in the Quran which encourages Muslims to go and share Islam. Jesus's great commission is to GO and make disciples of all nations starting in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria. Some great missionaries obey his commandment in the reverse order, starting from far away (Samaria), but never reaching their own local community (Jerusalem). Counter-terrorism government initiatives did not bring terrorism to its knees. In fact, there is even more terrorism today than when these initiatives started. The true battle and the correct counter-terrorism movement should be led by Christians. As Christians, we should be radically sharing the good news of Jesus with those who are living in the deepest darkness. Most Muslims believe they are living in the light. "And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!" (Matthew 6:23) In John 8:12 Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." However, he didn't stop there. In Matthew 5:14, Jesus says, YOU are the light of the world. If God's light is truly shining in your heart, the same light he shone in the darkness, what right do you have to keep this light to yourself forsaking your Muslim neighbors? 2 Corinthians 4:6 says, "He made his light shine in your hearts to give you the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ." It is my prayer that you would join our movement from Mecca to Christ and shine God's light upon your Jerusalem. May his glory envelope you as you embark on this mission with us.
