THE POWER OF FRAMING YOUR HOUSE

Before any house is ever built, they all start out as a frame of wood planks or concrete blocks built on a strong foundation. This building technique is as old as time, and was developed by our Creator when He SPOKE the universe and all that it contains into existence (Genesis 1).

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue”, for “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” (Proverbs 18:21; Hebrews 11:3)

If we want to start seeing the power of God manifest in our lives, we will have to start paying attention to what we SAY. Words have power—more than any of us realize, but we often SPEAK them as though they are meaningless. These are words that you SPEAK but don’t really believe. For example, you might SAY, “I’m dying to see my grandchildren.” You really don’t mean you’re dying, but you SAY it anyway to emphasize the importance of the relationship.

Every time you SAY things that you don’t really mean, it begins to numb your heart. Jesus warned us against our “idle words” (Matthew 12:36-37). You see, unconsciously, each “idle word” is making it just a little bit harder to believe what you SAY will actually come to pass when you mean it and it really counts. Proverbs 23:7 says that as you think in your heart, so are you; and Luke 6:45 says that what you SPEAK comes from the abundance of your heart. In other words, the way that you think controls the way that you talk. And if you understand that your words have power, then you understand why you can be “hung by your tongue”. The good news is that your words are never "idle" when you SPEAK the Word of God!

So, remember, it is your responsibility to get your heart and mouth in gear, speaking and acting as though you have already received the fulfillment of our desire. Your mouth is the implement of faith that SPEAKS the words out of your heart that enables you to reap the harvest you desire, and you will reap that harvest by BELIEVING and, thus, SPEAKING the promises of God into fulfillment!

WATER INTO WINE

The first miracle Jesus performed during His ministry on earth happened when He was attending a wedding where the host ran out of wine. We all know that Jesus filled the need by supernaturally turning water into wine. But before He made the wine, Jesus asked the host in need of the wine to do “something” -- to fill six water jars with water.

To better understand the problem the host was faced with, we must consider that in those days water was always brought from the wells in Jerusalem or local wells in villages. As a result of this and the hot climate, water was unsafe to drink because of the growth of bacteria in it, and therefore water was mainly used for washing but almost never drunk alone. While the people were unaware of the causes of disease (in bacteria) they were well aware of the problems with the water in a society where life expectancy was no more than 40 or so anyway.

So, you see, even though Mary told the host to, “Do whatever He tells you to do,” for him to obey Jesus’ request, the host had to weigh the logical reasons that made no sense for him to comply against his absolute trust and confidence in what Jesus’ was asking him to do. We all know how the story ends with Jesus miraculously turning the water that no doubt smelled and tasted terribly into the finest wine served during the entire banquet. Isn’t that just like our Jesus?

The good news is that Jesus can turn your water into wine, too! You can give Him the ugliest, dirtiest, and nastiest thing that He wants from you and then He can turn it into the best thing anyone has ever witnessed – YES HE CAN!

Remember, when Jesus went to the cross, He transformed our:
• Guilt into forgiveness
• Sickness & Disease into Healing
• Sin into His righteousness
• Certain death into an eternal, abundant life
• Curse into a blessing
• Poverty into abundant wealth
• Shame into sharing His glory
• Rejection into His acceptance with the Father
• Separation from God into being joined as one to the Lord
• Old Man into a New Man

But the thing is, in order for all this to happen, we must trust Jesus and, BY FAITH, give it all to Him – even when it doesn’t seem to make any logical sense at all!

THE POWER OF EXERCISING YOUR AUTHORITY

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
(Luke 10:19)

Jesus has given us authority. But what good is any authority if it is not used correctly? One of the biggest responsibilities we have as Believers is to rightly utilize our God-given authority over “the power of the enemy” that arises against us. In many instances, this area has been neglected and we allow ourselves to be caught up in a situation waiting for God to do something after He has clearly commanded us to use this authority that He has already given us.

The problems we face in life can be considered mountains or obstacles that stand in our way, and Jesus taught us to SPEAK to these mountains. “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have Faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also IF YOU SAY TO THIS MOUNTAIN, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ IT WILL BE DONE” (Matthew 21:21).

So often, as Believers we pray ABOUT the “problem mountains” we face but we never take authority OVER them. Therefore, we must refuse to accept them and need to get in the practice of resisting the incoming attack of the devil by speaking to it whenever it first shows up and commanding it to go in Jesus’ name (James 4:7).

If you want “problem mountains” to leave, you have to SPEAK TO THEM! Jesus never taught us to pray ABOUT problems; He told us to SPEAK to them! “If you have Faith as a mustard seed, YOU CAN SAY to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and IT WOULD OBEY YOU” (Luke 17:6). In other words, when we don’t exert our authority over “problem mountains” and speak to them, we are being disobedient to what Jesus told us to do!

If you recall, Adam and Eve didn’t speak to the serpent (which was Satan) commanding him to leave, and it ended up costing them everything. But when Jesus faced Satan in the wilderness, we read that the devil took Jesus up on AN EXCEEDINGLY HIGH MOUNTAIN, and after tempting Him, Jesus SPOKE to Satan and commanded Him, “Away with you, Satan!”, and THE DEVIL LEFT Him! (Matthew 4:8-11)

Remember, the “problem mountains” you are facing cannot be treated nicely. They all come from Satan, and they all have to be resisted by speaking to them in Jesus’ name and commanding them to go right back to the very pit of hell where they came from!

The Apostle Paul put it this way: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. And since we have the same Spirit of Faith, according to what is written – ‘I believed and therefore I spoke’ – we also believe and THEREFORE SPEAK, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-14)

If you trust that God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19) and believe in His Word, SPEAK to the “problem mountains” you are facing and keep saying and telling yourself what the Word of God says about that “problem mountain”. The more you SAY it, the more you are going to believe it, plus it is going to help you deal with all the doubt and unbelief that is going to come from Satan.

Remember, Faith is finding out about what God said about the situation you are facing and CHOOSING to believe what He said, and it keeps thanking God for what His Word says. Your Faith has a voice, and should NEVER stop speaking God’s Word!

THE POWER OF SEEING WHAT YOU BELIEVE

“Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
(John 14:13-14)

There is no argument that PRAYER is a powerful instrument in the mouth of a Believer to call all of Heaven down into the midst of our most difficult circumstances and struggles – especially when we pray the Word of God!

The World would say ‘I’ll Believe it when I see it’, but Jesus said we must ‘Believe it BEFORE you see it.’ You see, God’s Word is His will. So, when we ask anything that we desire according to a promise in His Word, we can rest assured He has heard us and that we will have what we have asked for if we believe that we receive it.

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask WHEN YOU PRAY, BELIEVE THAT YOU RECEIVE THEM, AND YOU WILL HAVE THEM.”
(Mark 11:24)

When we place an order to make a purchase for a product online, we don’t sit around wringing our hands wondering IF the merchandise will arrive. We have Faith that the item will eventually arrive and don’t give it much thought thereafter, because once we have clicked “PLACE ORDER”, we ‘BELIEVE WE WILL RECEIVE’ it. In the same manner, when we pray, we have to ‘BELIEVE WE RECEIVE’ what we ask for and THEN we shall have it because Jesus promised!

So, pray the promises of God and have Faith it is yours in the Spiritual realm when you have said “Amen”. See the answer with your Eye of Faith and don’t wait to believe it until you ‘SEE THE RESULTS’ manifested in your Physical realm!

“I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But YOU MUST REALLY BELIEVE IT WILL HAPPEN AND HAVE NO DOUBT IN YOUR HEART!”
(Mark 11:23 NLT)

THE POWER OF GOD’S GRACE

Most of us have never fully experienced the true power of God’s Grace upon us. Oh, we know some basic facts about it. We know we were saved by it (Ephesians 2:8), but we do not completely understand the real power it can release in our lives today! To truly understand what God’s Grace in our life can really do, look at what happened to the early Christians in Acts 3-4.

After conducting an open-air, Healing Revival Service in Acts 3 where 5,000 men (not counting women and children) had been saved, Peter and John were threatened by their religious leaders and commanded to not speak nor teach anymore in Jesus’ Name. So, in Acts 4:29-30 they prayed, “…Grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your Word, by stretching out Your hand to Heal, and that Signs and Wonders may be done through the name of Your Holy Servant, Jesus!” As a result of that prayer, we find in verse 33 that “…GREAT GRACE was upon them all!”

Great Grace – Grace so powerful that when those believers received it, the whole building shook! Grace so great it enabled the apostles to work “many signs and wonders...among the people” (Acts 5:12).

That one story alone should be enough to convince you that God’s Grace is not just some abstract, spiritual state of mind. God’s Grace is real. It is powerful – it provides the supernatural power to make things happen!

But, the most exciting thing is the Bible tells us that same Grace that was available to the early Church is available TODAY to anyone who’s ever sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. "And God is able to make ALL GRACE ABOUND TOWARD YOU, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance FOR EVERY GOOD WORK!" (2 Corinthians 9:8) Thank God, that means you and I qualify!

So, if the devil has been threatening you lately, follow the example of those early Christians and begin to discover what grace is really all about! Get in prayer and say, “Lord, I don’t care what the devil and his bunch say, I’m not going to back down. I’m going to keep on talking and living by Faith, and I’m going to do it boldly. So, just turn up the power and grant me the boldness to be your visual aid of Heaven here on Earth!”

The GOOD NEWS of salvation through Jesus Christ is that “whoever believes in Him should NOT PERISH”. The BAD NEWS is that whoever does not believe in Him WILL PERISH!

God does not desire that anyone should PERISH but that all should come to repentance. But, the choice is only ours to make, and God awaits your decision. Make it a good one!

THE POWER OF RE-JOICING!

“REJOICE in the Lord always. Again, I will say, ‘REJOICE’!”
(Philippians 4:4)

The word “Rejoice” in this text is translated from the Greek word CHAIRO, which means “to be exceedingly glad and cheerful.” In English, we define “Rejoice” as:
• Being delighted
• Having pleasurable satisfaction
• Experiencing gladness in a high degree
• Feeling or showing great happiness about something
• Being ecstatic and expressing joy or triumph

To Re-Joice would imply “returning, restoring or turning back again to a former state of “Joy”. So, in the context of Paul’s admonishment in Philippians 4:4, how can you do that?

For starters, you begin by studying and meditating on God’s promises. When you do that and gain insight into what God is saying to you (and about you), JOY COMES! It comes because you begin to have a deeper and clearer knowledge and understanding of God. Joy will come because realize you can go boldly before Him in prayer on the basis of THE WORD, and be confident your prayers will be answered!

In verses 5-8, Paul continues to give us the recipe for “Re-Joicing”:
“Let all men know and perceive and recognize your unselfishness, your considerateness, and your forbearing spirit...Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer, petitions, definite requests, and with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus! For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things and FIX YOUR MINDS ON THEM!

It is also written in Proverbs 15:23 that “a man has joy in making an apt answer, and A WORD SPOKEN AT THE RIGHT MOMENT—how good it is!” When you start answering the troubles you are facing with the promises of God, they will release JOY in you and send the demons running in 7 different directions (James 4:7). Satan can’t stand the Lord’s JOY in you!

So, “stir up” the JOY OF THE LORD in you. Pray the Word and really think about it is saying. Replace wrong thoughts with God’s thoughts, and enjoy winning!

THE POWER OF SPEAKING GOD'S WORD

The late John Osteen said, “If you want to change your world, start by changing your words to those taken straight from the Word of God.”

Believe it or not, the words you speak are extremely important. Words set spiritual laws in motion that fuel the results in your life one way or the other. Your words are like a start button. When you push the button, it sets things in motion—either good or bad. That is why Jesus said, “By your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:37)

The thing is, if your words are in opposition to what you want to see come to pass, then you will set the wrong spiritual law in motion and set yourself up for a negative result. That is why you have to start acting like every word you speak matters…because it does!

To do this, you need to start giving closer attention to what you are saying. Faith-filled words will prevent you from being double-minded—flipping back and forth between fear and faith—and will keep you in a position to receive. After all, James 1:6-7 says a double-minded man receives nothing from God, so you might as well pick a side—faith or fear—from the beginning. With every word you speak, ask yourself, “Am I stepping over the line of doubt and unbelief?” If the answer is yes, take back your words, repent, and replace your wrong word choices with faith-filled ones! Search God's Word for a scripture that addresses your circumstance, and change your world by speaking it everyday!

1. Instead of saying, “I never have enough money”, agree with God’s Word and say, “My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory.” (Philippians 4:19)

2. Instead of saying, “I am probably going to get laid off just like everyone else”, confess, “My God is more than enough. I am blessed and I am prosperous. My needs are met according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God’s favor surrounds me like a shield. I believe I am being promoted and increased every day. I’m blessed when I come in, I’m blessed when I go out!” (Deuteronomy 28:6; Psalm 5:12, 75:6-7; Philippians 4:13-19; 1 Corinthians 3:7)

3. Instead of saying, “I have diabetes because all of my relatives had it, and now I have to be on medication for life”, agree with God’s Words and say, “By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I am the Healed of the Lord!” (Isaiah 53:5; Psalm 107:20)

4. Instead of saying, “I get sick every year”, confess, “I do not expect or receive any kind of sickness or disease in my body. I resist it in the Name of Jesus. I rebuke it now. No plague will come near my home. I walk in supernatural and divine health every day of my life!” (Psalm 91:10; Galatians 3:13; Colossians 2:15)

5. Instead of saying, “I have an unhappy marriage and I would be better off on my own”, confess, “I claim healing in my marriage in the Name of Jesus! I have a happy, healthy relationship with my spouse. Together, we will serve the Lord.”

6. Instead of saying, “I’m really worried about my kids”, agree with God and say, “My children have a bright and glorious future. They will serve God with a faithful heart and make wise choices. My children have divine protection and walk in divine health. They choose godly friends and refuse to turn to the right or to the left, but instead stay on the narrow path of righteousness. They have the favor of God!” (Isaiah 53:5, 54:13; Psalm 91; Proverbs 4:27, 13:20)

Whatever you are going through right now, do NOT agree with your situation. Do NOT agree with difficulty. This is not to say that you should walk in denial of your circumstances, but, rather, you should agree at all times with God’s best. If you want to see your life change, if you want to see your finances change, if you want to see your self-worth increase, speak the word of God over yourself. Speak faith over yourself. REMEMBER: No one can build your faith for you, but you!

I encourage you today to come into God’s gym, pick up the word of God, and use it. Build your faith muscle, release it, and watch your life change!

THE POWER OF HOPE

Hope, also known as our confident expectation, is the activator in our Faith in God’s Word while we patiently wait to inherit His promises (Hebrews 6:12). You see, without Hope, we may become discouraged and give up on our Faith, doubting whether God will come through for us. However, with Hope, we can weather any storm and endure any trial, knowing that God is Faithful in keeping His promises.

Our confident expectation can give us the strength to endure and wait patiently for the desired outcome. When we have Faith in God’s Word, then our Hope in His Word becoming a reality in our lives can provide the motivation to hold on to our belief and continue moving us forward towards God’s intention to Faithfully manifest what He has said will happen. It is through the connection of Hope between our Faith in God and in waiting for it to come to pass that we can maintain our resolve and trust in the process of seeing it become a physical reality. It enables us to see beyond our present circumstances and into the future. We can have Hope for a better tomorrow, even if our today is filled with challenges and difficulties. This Hope is not based on wishful thinking or positive affirmations, but is rooted in the truth of God’s character and His promises!

Furthermore, Hope is contagious. When we have Hope, we can inspire and encourage others to Hope as well. We can offer Hope to those who are struggling or going through difficult times, reminding them that their current situation is not permanent and that better days are ahead.

In other words, Hope is an essential ingredient in our Faith walk. It provides the strength and motivation to endure and wait patiently for God’s promises to come to pass. It enables us to see beyond our present circumstances and inspires us to press on towards the future.

So, hold fast to your Hope, knowing that God cannot lie, He is Faithful, and His promises will come to pass in every area of your life.

THE POWER OF GOD’S FORGIVENESS

What emotions do you feel when you hear the word sin? Perhaps you have experienced embarrassment, discomfort, guilt, shame, regret, fear and unworthiness stemming from a past mistake or experience. All of these feelings fall under the category of “condemnation”. These past sins or experiences could have happened 10 years ago or 10 minutes ago. But anytime we miss the mark, and we all do from time to time, the enemy will try his best to bring condemnation on us and the negative consequences that come with it.

So, what are we to do? Well, instead of rehearsing and nursing the mistake over and over in your mind, do these 3 things:

1. Do what it says in Philippians 3:13 and TAKE YOUR THOUGHTS CAPTIVE! When a condemning thought from your past crosses your mind, stop it dead in its tracks by speaking out loud. Believe in your heart and say, “No. I don’t live in the past. Jesus has made all things new and given me a prosperous, guilt-free future. I am living fully in the present, and I look forward to what God is doing in my life right now!”

2. Start acting like the “New Creation” that you have become in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21). Living in condemnation because you just can’t seem to accept your new status is self-focused. But receiving your new-found forgiveness is God-focused. So, turn your focus back on God, forgive yourself because Jesus has forgiven you, and start living in victory!

3. Remind yourself that it is God that has made you worthy (Romans 5:8). When God looks at you, He doesn’t see your past. Do you know what He sees? He sees the worthy blood of Jesus covering you. He sees you perfect in every way, ready to complete every good work He created you to do in this world. You don’t have to struggle to prove yourself to Him. As far as He is concerned, you are a proven success.

So, the next time you catch yourself struggling to make up to God for something you have done wrong, or you find yourself working to win His approval or the approval of others, stop and rest in His love for you because you already measure up. Remind yourself of how much God loves you, and focus on your part: To please the Lord with your life by living like you believe it!

04/12/2023

“There is no comparison between the present hard times in this World and the coming good times! The created world itself can hardly wait for what is coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.

All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it is not only around us; it is within us! The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We are also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, do not see the child within that is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.”

THE POWER OF WALKING THROUGH GOD’S OPEN DOOR

“See, I HAVE SET BEFORE YOU AN OPEN DOOR, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘FEAR NOT, I WILL HELP YOU.’”
(Isaiah 41:13; Revelation 3:8)

Praise and thanks be to the Lord – we serve a God that not only opens doors of opportunities for us, but will also hold our hand to help us when we walk through it!

Most of us will agree that it is in our nature to resist change. Though we might enjoy each season in our life for its individuality, and though we might appreciate a change once it has taken place, there is a tension that comes with that build-up to the actual change. Knowing change is coming tends to spark a bit of nervous energy within us, making us feel like we need to prepare ourselves or brace for impact. You see, every change involves an exchange – the known for the unknown. But the constant known that never changes is God’s track record! I am here to tell you that all you have to do is simply trust God at His Word to orchestrate the changes that will move you along in your calling and, therefore, take you to a whole new level in Him!

There are times when life seems to be shifting, and becoming something other to what it was before. Well, God is constantly on the move (John 5:17), and like a river, He flows ever onwards. While we may step from the riverbank into the river, the waters flowing over our feet will never be the same waters that flowed even one moment before. But, the key to successfully walking through the unfamiliar waters is to do like the song said, “Put your hand in the hand of the Man who stilled the water.” In other words, put your complete trust in the One that opened the new way of opportunity for you – EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T SEE THE END!

You will find you can HAVE FAITH IN GOD and welcome new beginnings, even if it’s hard to say goodbye to the previous chapter of your life. You will especially learn this as you lift your foot to take the next new step, and it is time to be open to His will and guidance. REMEMBER: God always has something good for you in the long run (Jeremiah 29:11)!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.”
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
