HOW DO YOU GET RIGHT WITH GOD?

In order to get “right” with God, we must first understand what is “wrong.” The answer is sin.

“There is no one who does good, not even one” (Psalm 14:3). We have rebelled against God’s commands; we “like sheep, have gone astray” (Isaiah 53:6).

The bad news is that the penalty for sin is death. “The soul who sins is the one who will die” (Ezekiel 18:4).
The good news is that a loving God has pursued us in order to bring us salvation. Jesus declared His purpose was “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10), and He pronounced His purpose accomplished when He died on the cross with the words, “It is finished!” (John 19:30).

Having a right relationship with God begins with acknowledging your sin. Next comes a humble confession of your sin to God (Isaiah 57:15). “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:10).

This repentance must be accompanied by faith – specifically, faith that Jesus’ sacrificial death and miraculous resurrection qualify Him to be your Savior.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
Many other passages speak of the necessity of faith, such as John 20:27; Acts 16:31; Galatians 2:16; 3:11, 26; and Ephesians 2:8.

Being right with God is a matter of your response to what God has done on your behalf. He sent the Savior, He provided the sacrifice to take away your sin (John 1:29), and He offers you the promise: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Acts 2:21).

A great example of repentance and forgiveness is the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). The younger son wasted his father’s gift in shameful sin (verse 13). When he acknowledged his wrongdoing, he decided to return home (verse 18). He assumed he would no longer be considered a son (verse 19), but he was wrong. The father loved the returned rebel as much as ever (verse 20). All was forgiven, and a celebration ensued (verse 24).
God is good to keep His promises, including the promise to forgive. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).

If you want to get right with God, here is a sample prayer.
REMEMBER saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you.!!
It is only trusting in Christ that can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation.

"God, I know that I have sinned against You and am deserving of punishment. But today I humble myself before you and come to you asking for your forgiveness of ALL my sins.
I repent for living life my way instead of seeking you and your will for my life,so that I may fulfill your purpose for my life.
Thank you for paying the price for my sins by taking my place upon that cross.
I place my trust and believe in You as my Lord And Savior thank you for the gift of your salvation and for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness – the gift of eternal life! In the Mighty Name of Yeshua (Jesus)Amen!"

🌹 We have heard so many people (fellow believers / preachers / biblical teachers /and evangelists) over the years declare that 'God wants to use you.'

🌹 That is just incorrect! For our God is in the smallest of details.

🌹 First, let's look at the definition of 'use' in the Webster's Dictionary: 1) to put into action; 2) to consume; 3) take; and, 4) to carry out a purpose.

🌹 There is no transformation power at work in 'using' any object.

🌹 If you or I were to 'use' a spoon, after we have used it, put it into action, and carried out its purpose - it would still be, a spoon!

🌹 God does not 'use' us! How can I say that, because once we have come face-to-face /heart-to-heart with the Holy Spirit of the Living God, we are never the same!!! We become transformed.
2 Cor. 3:18. Amen.

🌹 God works first in us, transforming a heart of stone to a heart of flesh - Eze. 36:26, and then works through us for His glory!!

🌹 Let's look at the word 'transform' in the Webster's Dictionary: 1) to change in composition or structure; 2) to change the outer form or appearance; and, 3) to cause to undergo a genetic transformation!!!

🌹 In the very definition, it states a change at the cellular level.

🌹 To my fellow believers, brothers and sisters in Christ - do we not rejoice that we have been made new in Christ. We are by definition, not the same person. If we truly accepted Christ, turned from our wicked and foolish ways, and are daily following after Him, we should shout, Yes! We have transformed. We are transforming.

🌹 Our Abba Father with such love and care first worked in us - transforming us to be more Christ-like, to then work through us for His purpose and glory. Amen.

🌹 That genetic transformation is in the blood of Jesus that washed us of our sin and adopts us into the Kingdom of God. Amen.

🌹 Here is God at work in the details.

🌹 Which would you declare - that you have been 'used' or that God has done a work in you?

🌹 Be bold in the name of Jesus

Love

🌹 Conditional vs. Unconditional

Are we capable of unconditional love?

Better yet, are we capable of receiving unconditional love?

If we are honest, we have, at some point, given conditional love. I love you (as long as you … fill in the blank).

I do not believe we set out to be ‘conditional’.

I believe most of us, at some point in life, have been the recipients of ‘conditional’ love.

Conditional love (receiving one’s kindness, friendship, communication, time) as long as we speak their language, encourage their endeavors, and applaud their achievements.

Love that is conditional is tested when one speaks contrary to the other’s goals, desires, and thoughts.

The testing lies in the value one places in that relationship to the person challenging their goals, desires, and/or thoughts.

If the value of the relationship is low, offense usually rises.

If the value of the relationship is high, trust levels the sting of the testing.

Let’s think about the different types of relationships. There are, to name a few:
* siblings
* parent / child
* family
* friends
* spouses.

All these relationships are subject to either a conditional or unconditional love.

To love unconditionally takes a level of bravery to speak truth.

Not our truth, which are just puffed up opinions, but to speak God’s Word - His Truth, in love and with love!

To love unconditionally…

Well, by definition to love is:
1) to have great affection for
2) to have pleasure in

Therefore, to love - one has to have a great affection for or take great pleasure in the PERSON, not what the person wants.

Because have we not learned that what we ‘want’ is not necessarily what we ‘need’!?!

By this, to love unconditionally is to love the person in truth. Not their truth. Not by our truth. But by Truth.

John 14:6 says: Jesus told him, “I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

To love conditionally is easy. Appease and be loved.

To love unconditionally, is to love through hardships, testings, seasons of abundance and drought and TRUST that those you have around you love you to tell you the truth when you need it not just when you want it!!

To love unconditionally, our Lord and Savior went to the cross alone to pay a debt we could not satisfy on our own.

To love unconditionally, consists of sweet moments and pain; consists of joy and tears; consists of faith and trust.

So I ask again, are we capable of giving and receiving unconditional love?

Let us live by the LORD’s Word in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV)
Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].

🌹🔥

Apart from Jesus, we cannot love like we ought.

We desperately need daily relationship with the LORD to love like Him. Unconditionally.

Why? Because we need it!!! Because those closest to us need it.

Father God -
our prayer is simple today.
Help us to love like Jesus loves.
Do a work in our hearts.
This we ask in His name, Amen. 🙌🏻
