When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He was taking our place and our punishment for sin. Paul tells us in Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died fo
r us". This is the Gospel of the Grace of God. We need to just simply believe it in order to be saved from the penalty of our own sins. When Christ died on the cross, He took our place, He took our penalty, and he took our death. By simple faith in what Christ has already done for us, we too are saved and sealed into this salvation.
Paul goes on to tell us in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast". If you believe that Christ died on the cross for your sins, you too are saved and sealed into an eternal life of heaven and rewards. It’s as simple as can be!
