The site was located on Apopka-Vineland Road. The name chosen, Christ The King, is symbolized with a cross and crown- evidence of a risen Lord. The first worship experience for this new congregation was set for Easter, April 22, 1984. That first service was shared by 134 people. The young congregation began to grow. Blessed with many business and community leaders in active lay support positions,
many programs were up and running that often do not get started until a congregation is much more well established. A second worship service was started in September, 1986. In 1989, the Voter's Assembly decided to build both a new Sanctuary and a new education building. A third worship service was added (8, 9:30, and 11) because the first building would not hold all the people. The new buildings were completed ahead of schedule and dedicated on March 22,1992, with 534 attending the service. In 1997 the weekday Preschool was launched with enrollment of 37 for the first year. The Preschool has gained an outstanding reputation in the community with an enrollment of 175 students as of January, 2006. We look forward to expanding our ministry opportunities and developing new programs to serve our children, youth, young adults, families and Preschool.
