Faith UMC Come with us! Every Sunday @ 10 AM. https://www.faithumcorlando.org We seek God together in worship. As a diverse community we worship God together.

Seeking God - Building Family - Feeding Community

We at Faith United Methodist Church are a multi-cultural community who believes spiritual growth happens through Seeking God, Building Family, and Feeding our community. Through song, through praise, through prayer, through scripture…We are continually encouraged to go deeper in our faith by looking for ways to build God's Family...

We Build F

amily as we intentionally challenge ourselves with spiritual growth. This happens through our growth groups. As we intentionally seek to grow together in community, that spiritual growth leads us to Feed the Community...

We feed the community both physically and spiritually. There are many that live around us who are undernourished. We choose to bring them physical and spiritual food that sustains life. Through working in our church and in our community we ensure that everyone in our area has the chance to come to know our Savior…

Last week’s pantry was another beautiful reminder of what community looks like when we come together to serve our neighbors. We are so grateful for everyone who continues to support this work—our volunteers, partners, and community resources that help us feed so many families each week.

A special thank you again to the Society of St. Andrews for blessing us with freshly gleaned potatoes on Wednesday, which were delivered to us and distributed to families during Thursday’s pantry. Fresh produce like this makes such a difference, and we’re thankful to be able to share it with our community.

We were also honored to lend a hand on Friday by supporting a fellow Second Harvest Steering Committee member (Juan) with their mobile food distribution in Port Orange. Working alongside one another to strengthen food access across our community is what partnership is all about.

Communities helping communities—this is what makes the work so meaningful. Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, serve, and support our neighbors together. 💚

This Sunday’s message: The Fruit of Easter - Self Control

Self-control is not about being perfect — it is about allowing God to guide our thoughts, words, reactions, and decisions every day.

Sometimes the greatest victories happen in the quiet moments:
choosing patience instead of anger,
kindness instead of frustration,
peace instead of worry,
and obedience instead of impulse.

The Bible reminds us in Galatians 5:22-23 that self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. That means we do not have to do it alone. As we stay close to God, He gives us the strength to respond with wisdom and love even when it is difficult.

Today, before reacting, pause and pray.
Ask God to help you walk in self-control and reflect His character in every situation.

“Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.” — Proverbs 16:32

This week Pastor Erwin completed a year-long Public Theology Fellowship with Wesley Seminary in Washington, D.C., focused on immigration reform, public witness, and the church’s role in advocating for human dignity and compassionate policies.

During those meetings with House representatives, the church was encouraged to help bring awareness to TPS (Temporary Protected Status) for Haiti. TPS allows individuals from countries facing dangerous conditions to temporarily remain safely in the United States. We are praying for an extension of TPS for Haitians as Haiti continues to suffer from political and economic challenges. To learn more go here: https://forumtogether.org/article/temporary-protected-status-fact-sheet/

Join us this Sunday to hear more about his experience and how it connects to our Fruit of Easter sermon series as we focus on gentleness.

This Sunday, we will reflect on the Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness — a strength rooted in love, humility, and grace.

One of the hardest things God asks of us is to hold firmly to truth while responding to others with gentleness and grace. The early Christians understood persecution, rejection, and misunderstanding firsthand. Yet Scripture calls believers to respond differently:

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:9–21

We often think strength means winning arguments, proving a point, or defending ourselves at all costs. But biblical strength looks different. It means standing firm in faith without becoming harsh in spirit. It means remaining compassionate even when others are unkind. It means choosing humility over pride and peace over retaliation.

In a world filled with division and outrage, gentleness becomes a powerful testimony of God’s Spirit at work within us.

How can we remain faithful to our convictions while responding to others with gentleness and reverence today?

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful volunteers from St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church who came out to serve alongside us at Thursday’s Food Pantry. Your helping hands, kindness, and servant hearts made such a difference for our neighbors and our ministry.

We were also blessed once again by the amazing generosity of the Society of St. Andrews, who provided fresh blackberries gleaned directly from the farm. What a gift to be able to share fresh produce with the families we serve!

Communities helping and serving their communities is what makes this work possible. Together, we are able to love, support, and care for our neighbors in meaningful ways. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us in service to others.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is… goodness…” Galatians 5:22–23

Goodness is more than just being kind. It is a life that reflects the heart of God. 💛

In Romans 15:14, Paul tells believers they are “full of goodness,” reminding us that when we walk with Christ, His character begins to shape the way we live, speak, and love others.

And in 2 Thessalonians 1:11, Paul prays that God would fulfill every desire for goodness and every work produced by faith. True goodness is active. It serves, encourages, forgives, and chooses what is right even when it is difficult.

We do not produce this fruit on our own. The Holy Spirit grows it in us as we stay connected to Jesus.

Today, may our lives reflect the goodness of God to everyone around us.

We are truly blessed to be a part of St. Andrews Society. 💚

They gleaned hundreds of pounds of green beans and generously blessed us with 580 lbs still on the vine! Megan and her team spent hours carefully pulling beans off the stalk—an incredible act of love and dedication.

There is no better way to serve our community than this. Farm-to-table isn’t just a phrase—it’s a mission that allows us to provide fresh, nutritious produce to those we serve.

Grateful for partnerships that make a real difference. 🌱
