Teen Jesus Freaks

Teen Jesus Freaks We want all Christian teens to feel welcome and free to converse with others. The foot of the cross is open to all, and all are welcome here. Hey! K- Is it Kind?
(848)

We wanted to create a page where teens can come and be encouraged in their walk with God. Although created by teens with teens in mind – all are welcome. Feel free to ask questions, request prayer, share music, scripture, words of wisdom – anything that is helping you cope with the demands of life, as well as let us know if there is anything we can help you with…

You can send private messages too

, but please understand that we can only check them from a PC and when mobile (which is often) we can’t see the messages at all ~ I promise we are not ignoring you! Non- believers – If you have a question please start a new thread by posting it to the wall. Out of respect for those who may not want to get a bazillion notifications for liking a picture that turned into a (most often off topic) debate, we would appreciate the new thread where we can respond without involving others involuntarily…

As a teen page FB automatically hides any posts with curse words, all caps and spam… Please keep everything PG for the sake of younger teens and respect for those who don’t want to be subjected to it…

Hate speech, bullying, graphic language, or innuendos will be reported to FB, the comments deleted and depending on severity the person banned. IT is not our desire to ban people, but if you want nothing to do with God and are only here to hurt others – you don’t’ need to be a part of this page… We will pray for you, but won’t allow you to continue.. We respect others, even at times of disagreement, and expect all to do the same. We won’t hate on you, so please do not hate on us. Lay prejudice aside and treat each individual as an individual without assuming the worst – as we do each of you. In an effort to follow the Golden Rule – we ask that everyone THINK before they speak

T-Is it True? H-Is it Helpful? I-Is it Inspiring
N-Is it Necessary? If it serves no purpose, but to tear others and their beliefs down – please don’t post. At times when we have not yet addressed a comment from haters, if you can not respond in a Christ-like manner, please ignore & pray for them, they need Jesus – do not ever damn anyone to hell! Anyways, as stated we want people to be encouraged and this is the purpose of the page! Love you all – God bless!

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! "If God allowed this to happen then He was too weak to stop it." That's just not true that's just how we justify when God does something we didn't like or allows something to happen that we didn't want to happen. When we're angry with Him this type of thinking becomes more and more justifiable. He let this or that happen. He let this person die. He let this sickness happen. He let me go through this or that so He must not really be an all powerful God or He doesn't really love us. What we need to realize is we're not always going to understand what God is doing. I've had plenty of times of not understanding what God is doing. Why did He let me break my leg and it heal weird so now I slightly limp and am more prone to foot pain? Why did He let my grandpa die even after I prayed over Him? Why did my mom have two strokes? Why did we have to go through the pandemic? Why did me and my wife have to struggle with infertility? I say all this to show you when I say God has a plan and purpose for all of the confusing and hurtful times I'm not just giving you a cheap Christian answer. Im telling you that I've hurt and I've been angry with God but I stuck with Him. At times I had to come back like the prodigal son but all that matters is that I came back and God proved Himself all powerful and faithful. He showed His love, grace, mercy, peace, and kindness. Let me tell you I'd rather deal with all my anxieties, fears, confusion, and whatever else happens in this life with God than without Him. If something has happened to you that made you turn away from God I'm telling you to turn around and trust Him once again. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! All we need to do is look at the Bible to see how Jesus sees sin and how we see sin are incredibly different. We see sin as this thing that completely seperates us from the love of God where as God says nothing can seperate you from my love. We condemn ourselves when we backslide thinking that what we did was the last straw but God says I've separated your transgressions as far as the east is from the west. Where we let sin and our mistakes mark the end of our story God says I wrote your story and I'm not done with you yet. Sin tries to label us but our identity is found in Christ alone. You see it with the woman at the well. You see it with the woman caught in adultery. Their sin, mistakes, and past tried to write their story. Tried to say this is how your life is and this is how it will always be. This is how people will always know you and how this world will label you. You see it with Paul after the road to Damascus and Peter after denying Jesus. They were one way but after encountering Jesus they were a whole different way. Their mindset and how they saw themselves and their mistakes totally changed. Our mindset needs to change. That sin that we just committed doesn't mark the end of the story. The sin that once caused a huge rip between us and God no longer has the power to do so. Stop condemning yourself. We don't need to try harder to keep sin from separating us we just need to run to God. We need to worship deeper. Pursue greater. The more time you give to God the more you'll see sin dwindle in your life. The work has already been done by Jesus now all we need to do is walk with Him. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! Esua gave up his birthright for a bowl of red lentil stew. It probably consisted of water, red lentils, other veggies, and some spices. That's what he was willing to trade his birth right for, just some vegetable stew. However, before looking down at Esua ask yourself what does this world trade their spiritual birthright for everyday? Temporary pleasures. Sin and vices that never satisfy. Depravity that seems to get worse and worse everyday. Works of the flesh that lead to emptiness. Useless things absolutely useless unfulfilling things that take more than they give, a false promise. Just leaving you hurt, discouraged, depressed, confused, angry, sad, hollow, etc. Listen, God has a seat at His table for us. Jesus has made it possible for us to become sons and daughters. He died for us so that all of our sins could be forgiven. He offers new everlasting life. Hope, peace, joy, and love. Power, wisdom, insight, understanding, healing, and guidance. This is what God offers and every day we have a choice. Are we going to embrace our spiritual birthright or are we going to pursue more meaningless things? Keep choosing God even when the world doesn't. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! Why do I love Easter/ Resurrection Sunday? For those of you who don't know, Easter is actually my favorite holiday. I love the vibes of it. There's food. There's family. It's spring. It's nice outside not too hot and not too cold. You ever had a deviled egg before? Those things may be called "deviled" but they are manna from Heaven. I could eat a whole plate myself. It used to be my busiest but most fun day getting to do the Easter play at my old church. I love Easter. I also love Easter because it's the end of an approximately 4,033 year journey. It is the end of the separation from an intimate relationship with God caused by sin and the beginning of reunion and intimacy with God through Jesus. It is the prodigal child (us) coming home to God because it was now possible because of Jesus. God throughout the Old Testament is reaching out to His children. He wanted to be near us and had a plan in mind of how He was going to make it happen and that is the story that starts on Christmas with the birth of Jesus and ends on Easter with His death and resurrection. His birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection. The foundation of our hope and salvation. Easter is the beginning of the "...and they all lived happily ever after" that will happen when Jesus returns. That's why I love Easter. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! Sometimes I have a hard time looking at pictures of myself when I was a kid. Looking at pictures of when I was in elementary, middle, and even high school pictures can stir up some unwanted emotions. These memories of everything I've been through. Knowing what this little 3rd grader was about to go through. How much that 6th grader would be bullied mercilessly and misunderstood. How isolated and lost that 9th grader was going to feel. Pictures of a smiling face that hid a sad hurting heart. Recently, I was looking at pictures of me as a kid and I said to myself , "you have no idea what you'll go through" and almost like a whisper I could hear God say, "It all led you to me. Doesn't that make it worth it?" I know for me my past can be painful to think about and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way but I never thought about them being the stepping stones to my encounter with Jesus. The reason why when God called to me I answered. That pain is the reason why I raised my hand during altar call and prayed and said Jesus is my Lord and savior. When I think of it like that, how Jesus took my past and made this beautiful testimony. I have to say yes it was worth it. This is why we have to give God our past because He's the only one who can bring beauty from it. Invite Him into those painful areas and watch what He does. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, " He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Yes, it still hurts at times to think about but when I shift my thinking to how it all led to Jesus and all the wonderful things that happened because of Him. Romans 8:18 which says, "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us" becomes more than just words on a page. He met me when I needed Him the most and He kept showing up as I went through more trials and tribulations. Its all worth it because we have Jesus and He changes everything. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! We run to that sin when we're tired. We run to that sin when we need a pick me up. When we're happy, sad, stressed out, at peace, and every other emotion or situation you can think of. The solution isn't to avoid feeling these feelings or avoid being in these situations because no matter what there will be times when we'll feel these emotions we are human after all and we'll find ourselves in all sorts of situations. The key is we need to change how we handle them. We run to sin because it's easy and it's convenient. It's familiar. It's the quick fix. It's everything our flesh craves and desires. The flesh will always want to do fleshly things. It's what we've done time after time but now the veil is no longer over our eyes and we know deep down that God's way is better. That His rest and healing is complete. The peace and reassurance found in God is abundant. However, knowing this and putting it into practice are two very different things. Every time we try to pray, read God's word, or spend time with Him our flesh will offer up that sin again. We need to choose God even when it hurts and it's uncomfortable. The more we do it the more we'll see a change in us. You'll see the fruit. You'll see your desires change. The more time you spend with God the more time you'll want to spend with Him. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! If God still has you here then He's not done with you yet. I know that life can be really hard at times and it seems to only get harder day after day but I need you to keep holding on and trusting God. You trusted God before and it worked out one way or another. I need you to keep trusting Him. I know that this world can make you more and more homesick for Heaven. Where there will be no sorrow and no pain. No stress or worries which is good because we are experiencing more than enough of that down here on earth. However, God will bring you home when the time comes until then "His grace is sufficient for us, for His strength is made perfect in our weakness." I find myself understanding those words found in 2 Corinthians more and more each day. Another verse I'm understanding more and more is Philippians 1:21 which says, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." We have this blessed assurance that when this life is over we get to see God face to face. We get to be with Jesus for all eternity. I'm excited for that day but I also know that while I'm still alive my life is not my own. I know that my purpose goes beyond if I'm having a good day or not. It doesn't matter what type of season I find myself in I know that I'm here to represent Jesus and preach the Gospel. So until God says it's time to go home I will do just that in good times and in bad times. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! When God tells you to move or move on just know there's a purpose behind it. I know it can be scary when you're stepping into a situation not knowing the outcome. I know how you feel because I've been there myself. We see throughout Scripture God telling people to move or move on. He told Abraham to leave his home country. Lot is told to flee S***m. He told Joshua to move on after Moses' death. He tells the disciples to drop and leave everything behind and follow Him. God knew what He was doing back then and He knows what He's doing now. So if you're facing a crossroads and you feel like God is pushing you towards one direction just know God has a plan and where God sends us His provision and power follows us. From experience I can tell you every time God has told me to go a certain way it has to lead to my growth, a new purpose, a better place, a deeper understanding, new joys, and etc. because I listened to God I became a leader. I understand scripture better. My prayers feel different and deeper. I learned how to help and encourage people better. I became a husband. I became a dad. My faith and trust in God feels different than it was. All because of God's guidance and I know what He did for me He can do for you. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! Even though it has been a while since I wrote anything I want you all to know that I have been paying attention to what's going on in the world and it saddens my soul. As a Christian I understand more and more why Jesus wept for Jerusalem. Seeing injustice. Seeing a lack of empathy. Seeing hatred and selfishness. Seeing hurt rather than healing. Seeing sin and carnality taking center stage. Seeing a need for Jesus but seeing a world that continues to reject Him. I feel like weeping for this world. My heart feels heavy. There are parts of me that want to be angry at what's going on but I try to think about how Jesus would want me to react and I know I have to keep my anger in check. I know that I need to see this world through God's eyes. God came to save this world. I can't act like Jonah with Nineveh no matter what the people of this world do. We are still told to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. To go into the world and preach the Gospel. Even when and especially when this world shows the worst of itself. Our first priority is to see salvation and transformation not condemnation and destruction. I know this world can be frustrating. I know seeing what's going on can be discouraging and sickening but if you've read the last page of the Bible we know how this story ends and we hold on to that hope and we act accordingly because of it. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! I was cutting up boxes with an electric scissor tool and I had my 5 month old son in his bouncer in the same room and every time I'd use it to break down the boxes his eyes would get really big and you could tell he didn't know whether to be scared of what was happening or not. Between using it he'd look at me to determine whether he should be afraid or not but when he saw me smiling and I would say to him, "it's okay I'm right here." He would calm back down and we kept that little cycle going until the job was done. Id break down the boxes, he didn't know if he should be scared or not, he'd look at me, I'd reassure him, and he'd be all smiley and calm again. Wash, rinse, and repeat. It got me thinking. How many of us forget to look at God for reassurance when we feel fearful? When's the last time you sought God out while you're feeling fear and worry? Our God is an ever present help in times of trouble. He is our peace. He is our strong tower. He is our blessed assurance. He is right there but for some reason we can forget to look at Him. God wants to encourage you. He wants to reassure us. Like Peter on the water, are we looking at Jesus or are we focusing on the waves? Seek God in every situation. Acknowledge Him. Be comforted by Him. Be sustained by Him. Let Him be your strength and your peace. -TonY

HELLO ALL YOU HAPPY PEOPLE! In Revelations 22:20 it says, "He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus" Many historians believe the book of Revelations was written around 95 A.D. about 1,931 years ago. John 14:3 says, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." Historians believe Jesus made this promise around 33 A.D. about 1,993 years ago. My uncle said something very interesting last time I saw him. He said, "We are in overtime. Jesus could come back any time now." It does feel like that right? It feels like when it comes to Jesus' return it could be any time now. I don't know the day or the hour. It could be tomorrow. It could be 50 years from now. It could be a 1,000 years. What I do know is we have a mission and a purpose. The work is plentiful. The time is now. God has given us this gift and He wants us to share it. It has to be more than words on a page. It has to be more than a good story. It has to be life changing. It has to be our greatest motivation. The fire in us and under us. When we hear about Jesus' return it should make us more desperate to see lives transformed. We want to see salvation. We want to see redemption. We want a bountiful harvest for the Lord. We may or may not be in overtime but either way we're going to keep doing the work of His kingdom. -TonY
