One of the biggest lies we believe is that we should be able to handle life on our own. We white-knuckle it through hard moments because we don't want to seem needy or be a burden. But God designed us for real, honest community with other people.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Their sacrifice is a gift we don't take lightly. John 15:13 says, "No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends."

Today we remember them, we thank their families, and we pray for our nation. May we never forget the cost of the freedom we enjoy.

Prayer doesn't have to be polished or perfectly worded. Some of the most honest moments with God are when you don't know what to say and we just show up anyway. That's not a prayer failure. That's intimacy.

The Spirit intercedes for us in those moments when words just don't come. God isn't waiting for eloquence. He's waiting for you. So come as you are, say what you can, and trust that he hears every word.

"In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings." — Romans 8:26 CSB

God is not silent! He speaks through His living Word and the Holy Spirit. We can’t say we want to hear from God, but neglect reading His Word. Let’s be like Samuel – faithful, attentive, and obedient!
