GOD, KEEP ME FROM EVIL.
Have you ever had a moment when you were tempted to lose your testimony?
The rude comment. The person who cut you off. The moment when everything in you wanted to go off and put someone in their place. We’ve all been there.
On Sunday, Pastor Rodney reminded us that after Jabez asked God for more favor, influence and power, he prayed, “Keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.”
We often ask God to change our circumstances. But one of the boldest prayers we can pray is, “God, don’t let my circumstances change me.”
It takes faith to ask God for more, but it takes character to faithfully carry the more God gives you.
Daniel showed us what that looks like. The culture shifted, the pressure increased and the consequences grew—but Daniel guarded his heart and held his ground.
Culture says, “Move the line.” Faith says, “Stand firm.”
This week, let’s pray: “God, bless me, expand me and empower me—but protect my character along the way.”
