What does it mean to be a global disciple?

For many of us, our experience of Christianity is shaped primarily by our local church, culture, and context. Yet we belong to a global family of believers, each with unique perspectives, stories, and lessons to share.

Becoming a Global Disciple is a new free resource from the Lausanne Movement that invites Christians to explore what it means to follow Jesus with a heart for the global Church and God's mission in the world.

Through five video sessions and accompanying resources, participants will discover practical ways to think, pray, learn, and act globally while remaining deeply rooted in their local communities.

🌍Watch the trailer and πŸ“© sign up to receive the free resources when they launch on 22 June.

Today, we stand in prayer with the persecuted Church.

Around the world, millions of Christians face challenges because of their faith, from social exclusion and discrimination to violence, imprisonment, and displacement. Yet the Church continues to grow, witness, and remain faithful.

As followers of Christ, we are invited to remember those who suffer and to pray alongside them.

Please join us in praying for:
β€’ Protection for vulnerable believers
β€’ Strength for pastors and church leaders
β€’ Comfort for families facing persecution
β€’ Wisdom for those serving in difficult contexts
β€’ The continued spread of the gospel

The global Church is one body. When one part suffers, we suffer together.

"Remember those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." β€” Hebrews 13:3

What does hope look like for teenagers growing up through economic collapse, displacement, and war?

In Lebanon, Youth for Christ is helping young people find community, healing, and purpose through youth centers that provide counseling, tutoring, mentorship, and the hope of the gospel.

In this episode of God on the Move, Maher El Hajj shares stories of lives being transformed through relational discipleship, including one displaced teenager who found a "second home" and a renewed sense of hope.

As conflict continues to affect communities across the Middle East, this conversation is a powerful reminder that God is at work through local churches, faithful leaders, and everyday acts of care.

In 2006, people invested in a generation of younger leaders.

One of them was Michael Oh.

He describes that experience as life-changing. It helped him discover a global family, build lifelong friendships, and embrace a deeper calling to gospel-centered leadership.

Today, we have the opportunity to invest in the next generation.

With just 3 days left, the Here to There Campaign has reached 68% of its goal. Every gift helps make it possible for younger leaders from around the world to participate in YLG 4 and continue a decade-long journey of discipleship, mentorship, and collaboration.

"The only question is whether we invest now or pay later."

β€œWhat does it take to bring the gospel where Christ is not yet known β€” and remain faithful for the long haul?”

In this episode of the Lausanne Movement Podcast, Janelle Stoops shares stories from years serving in Central Asia and reflects on frontier mission, perseverance, discipleship, and leadership formation.

One powerful moment recounts a woman recognizing Jesus from a dream before hearing the gospel for the first time.

As churches are planted among unreached peoples, the need for healthy leaders, discipleship, and community remains vital.

β€œHow great is our God! From despair to ultimate happiness! I prayed to our Lord, and He heard, and He answered!”

This message from a younger leader preparing for YLG 4 reminds us that support is not only financial. It is encouragement, answered prayer, and a reminder that the global church walks together.

Across the world, younger leaders are preparing to gather for YLG 4 in Brazil as part of a 10-year journey of discipleship, mentorship, and mission.

Because of generous support, this leader can continue the journey.

There is still time to help support more younger leaders.

Pentecost reminds us that the church was born in a moment of gathering, worship, and mission.

In Acts 2, people from many nations heard the good news in their own languages as the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the early church. From the beginning, God’s mission has always been global.

These moments from Lausanne gatherings reflect a small glimpse of that continuing story, believers from different cultures, backgrounds, and nations united in worship, prayer, and shared mission.

As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, may we continue to seek the leading of the Holy Spirit and pursue greater unity across the global church.

β€œWe can see the wholeness, we can see the inclusivity in the church.”

In this moving reflection, Loice Maluki from Kenya shares how disability inclusion training helped local churches move from stigma and misunderstanding toward belonging and participation.

Families impacted by disability were welcomed into church community, discipled, and encouraged to serve according to their gifts. Today, people with disabilities are actively involved in worship, interpretation, and ministry leadership.

This is not simply about accessibility.
It is about reflecting the fullness of the body of Christ.

This testimony from a younger leader in Nigeria reminds us why this is important.

Many emerging leaders around the world are already serving faithfully in difficult contexts. Financial barriers still prevent some from fully stepping into opportunities for mentorship, discipleship, and global collaboration.

YLG 4 is more than a gathering in Brazil. It is the beginning of a 10-year journey designed to strengthen younger leaders for long-term gospel impact.

Because of generous support, this leader can continue the journey.

There is still time to help support others preparing for YLG 4. Join us in making a difference!
