Can you feel it? A new generation of Christian leaders is preparing to gather. 🌍

As church and mission leaders, we know that younger leaders need more than a moment of inspiration. They need biblical conviction, Christlike character, trusted relationships, and people who will keep walking with them.

That is the vision behind YLG 4. Emerging leaders from around the world will gather in Brazil and virtually in March 2027. Through the Younger Leaders Generation (YLGen), the journey of mentoring, discipleship, and collaboration will continue for ten years.

Think of one younger leader in your community. How could you encourage or make space for them this week?

Tudo começou em 1974, na Suíça, a partir de uma conversa entre John Stott e Billy Graham. Eles levantaram a questão sobre a possibilidade de juntar líderes de todo o mundo para falar sobre evangelização, dando origem a um movimento global focado na colaboração. 

O grande impacto que o movimento e a igreja brasileira trouxeram foi justamente esse forte senso de colaboração, compreendendo que nenhuma pessoa ou cidade consegue alcançar o mundo sozinha, pois o Reino de Deus é múltiplo e criativo.

Atualmente, o Brasil destaca-se consideravelmente nesse cenário, sendo a segunda maior nação enviadora de missionários do mundo.

This week, we’re filming 15 conversations, one for each section of the Covenant. Written in 1974, it still raises questions worth sitting with: How do we speak about Jesus? What does the church owe the world? How do we live what we say we believe?

The cameras are rolling, but the heart of this project is the conversation. Here’s a glimpse inside the room.

From 16–22 March 2027, emerging leaders from around the world will come together for YLG 4 in Brazil and online. And it’s just the beginning of another decade of discipleship, mentorship, and collaboration.

Friendship Circles bring YLG 4 younger leaders and mentors together to open Scripture, share honestly, and encourage one another through the journey.

There may already be people in our churches and ministries with gifts we have not yet helped them develop.

The question is not simply whether women have opportunities to serve. It is whether we are intentionally creating pathways for discipleship, formation, leadership, and participation in God’s mission.

Women in Tune offers one example of what that investment can look like. Through prayer, discipleship, evangelism, training, and leadership development, women across Africa are being equipped to serve Christ in their churches and communities.

For church and mission leaders, this conversation invites an important reflection:

Who around us could flourish if someone intentionally invested in their calling?

Speak Up Africa ’26 is now online, opening the gathering to participants from across Africa and beyond. 🌍

From 28–30 September, Christian leaders, practitioners, scholars, and justice advocates will gather for meaningful dialogue around urgent issues of freedom, justice, and faith-based advocacy.

The online programme will elevate African voices and help participants explore practical pathways towards restorative action within the church and society.

We mourn the passing of Dr Sadiri Joy Tira, Lausanne’s first Catalyst for Diasporas and a faithful servant of the global church.

Joy was a pioneering voice in diaspora mission whose influence extended across the world. Through his ministry, teaching, writing, and leadership, he helped the church recognise the missional significance of people on the move and invested deeply in mentoring and equipping younger leaders.

We give thanks to God for Joy’s life, his faithful service to the Lausanne Movement, and his commitment to the mission of God.

Please join us in praying for his family, friends, colleagues, and all who mourn his passing. May they know the comfort and peace of Christ.

We are grateful to Lausanne Movement Canada and Dr T.V. Thomas for sharing this tribute to his life and ministry.

A tribute from fellow Canadian Dr. T.V. Thomas, Chair of the Lausanne Diasporas Network, on the passing of Dr. Sadiri Joy Tira:

“Dr. Joy Tira, the first Diaspora Catalyst for the Lausanne Movement, passed away last night. He was a pioneering visionary and global road warrior for the Mission of God, especially in migration and diaspora mission. His influence was profound and pervasive through his presence, proclamation, and publishing.

He recruited and mentored many younger leaders for ministry as a parent, pastor, networker, and mission mobilizer. Many are serving in the Kingdom of God as disciples and disciple-makers.

Many around the world, including his family, will grieve his passing.

May the Lord’s Spirit comfort us as he reminds us, ‘Occupy till I come’ (Luke 19:13, KJV). Amen.”

What mission potential might we be overlooking?

African diaspora churches are an increasingly significant part of Christianity in Britain. Research with 40 pastors across England, Scotland, and Wales reveals vibrant, relational discipleship, but also challenges around sustainable formation, leadership development, and equipping the next generation.

The opportunity is significant: what could become possible if African diaspora churches were more fully recognised, equipped, and included in the wider mission community?
