What are young people really looking for from the church?

We often hear about short attention spans and the difficulty of engaging younger generations. But after nearly 20 years of discipling young people in Sri Lanka, Asiri Fernando is seeing something else: a deep hunger for truth.

When young people recognise something as true, he says, they are willing to listen. They want the truth of Scripture, but they also want something more: a community that is true.

A community where people can be honest about their weaknesses and struggles. Where faith is not simply spoken about, but lived authentically.

Perhaps the challenge is not only how we capture young people’s attention, but what kind of communities we are inviting them into.

How can we pray for the next generation today?

Across the world, young people are navigating questions of identity, purpose, faith, belonging, and the future.

As the global church, we have the privilege of praying for them—and of walking alongside them.

Pray for truth, that they would know and love God’s Word.
Pray for community, where they can be known and grow in faith.
Pray for courage to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Pray for mentors who will listen, serve, disciple, and stay close.
Pray for mission, that they would discover how God can use their lives for his purposes.

“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” — Psalm 145:4

What if every believer saw themselves as a witness to Jesus?

At the Fourth Lausanne Congress, believers from around the world stepped into the StoryBooth to share stories of how God has been at work in and through their lives.

Those stories were later brought together in a reflection by Eniola Iyiola, and they point to something beautifully simple: the gospel often moves through ordinary people in ordinary moments.

Through conversations, relationships, and faithful obedience, every believer has opportunities to bear witness to Jesus.

What if generosity for global mission didn’t flow in only one direction?

For generations, mission funding has often been understood through the categories of those who give and those who receive. But the global church is changing, and so is the opportunity before us.

Every part of the body of Christ has something to contribute: finances, prayer, relationships, skills, hospitality, influence, and much more.

In Who Funds Your Mission?, Redina Kolaneci invites us to rethink mission funding through the lens of polycentric generosity, recognising that participation in the Great Commission can flow from everywhere to everywhere.

What might change if we stopped asking only, ‘Who can fund mission?’ and started asking, ‘What has God placed in each part of his church to contribute?’

Have you ever looked at what God has placed in front of you and thought, “I don't have enough for this”?

Enough resources.
Enough experience.
Enough capacity.
Enough answers.

In this conversation from Argentina, there’s a powerful reflection on what can happen when our own resources no longer feel sufficient.

We can panic. We can compare ourselves with people or places that seem to have more. We can try to escape what is in front of us.

Or our limitations can lead us into deeper dependence on God.
