MUSIC
EZEKIEL 28:13
“Thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee.”
I was walking down a beautiful cobblestone road when my eyes suddenly landed on a location that once shined with the “beauty of glory”— a place that had been outstanding, magnificent, and excellent in every way. But the years had eroded that former beauty with what is called apathy.
Apathy is a state of lacking interest, lacking emotion, lacking enthusiasm, and lacking concern.
Negligence follows apathy, and destruction follows negligence.
So, this former beauty queen had become a destructive symbol of carelessness.
This reminded me of a person I was once quite close to.
By human standards, she was a high achiever — determined to be the best she could be and excel in her God given placement on the earth. This is good and highly commendable, for God states the following.
PROVERBS 22:29
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
MATTHEW 25:20–21
“And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
Our success through determination, commitment, dedication, labor, sacrifice and effort brings the Lord joy. There is no doubt about this.
But my friend began to live a life of compromise — obeying the Lord in some places while entertaining devils in other areas.
One of the things she enjoyed was the music of the demonic kingdom. The scripture is clear that God made the devil with musical instruments within him.
EZEKIEL 28:13–15
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
The devil is the world’s “music guru” and those who fellowship with the music of his kingdom will develop “death.”
Death will enter every area of a person’s life, leading them toward the closed grave of utter destruction.
God is clear.
ROMANS 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
When a Christian breaks the healthy boundaries of true Kingdom life and entertains the devil’s music, destruction will arrive in that life whether they like it or not.
My once healthy and dynamic Christian friend loved the devil’s music, and she is now a fragment of the person I used to know.
I pray for her, but ultimately the choice is hers alone to come clean, obey the Lord, and enjoy the restoration He desires to bring into her life. This is the desire of the Lord, but once again — it is her choice alone.
Will she come out of death and into life, or will she remain in death to utter destruction?
This choice lies before all of us, along with the factual results of our daily decisions.
God wants all to enjoy the music that flows from a born-again spirit and to refuse the music that comes from a corrupt spirit who refuses to repent and be converted.
Once again, may we decide that our lives and our choices are important.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:17
“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
