We keep thinking hope is supposed to make the pain stop.

It doesn’t. That’s not what it’s for.

Hope is what holds you steady when the weight is still there — when the grief is still fresh, when the questions don’t have clean answers, when Monday morning feels nothing like Sunday’s truth.

The lie sounds like this: Something is wrong with me.

You pray and feel nothing. You believe the verses but carry the weight anyway. And somewhere in the silence, you start to wonder if the ache means your faith is falling apart.

It doesn’t.

What if the groaning isn’t proof that you’re broken — but proof that you’re alive? What if the ache you can’t shake is the Holy Spirit pulling you toward something your eyes haven’t seen yet?

Not a death rattle. Labor pains.
