Sometimes as a Christian it can feel like this in the world.

But remember Elijah. He said "
“I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life."

He felt alone and as of it was the entire world. But keep pushing toward the prize and being as many with you as you can on that narrow path.

Look what God told Elijah! "Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

This is why every Christian needs church to be reminded of the many who also Love Jesus and follow HIS WAY. The same reason the enemy is pushing "no need for church".

To make you secluded so he can pounce on you like a lion. Even false prophets in music telling you that you don't need church.

God has called for HIS GLORY many, and those awaiting HIS glorious return. Don't believe the enemy you are NOT alone.

But even if it were just you...would you follow? Elijah followed thinking it was just him. Resist the world and all its lies. It (they) has nothing to offer you that is eternal.

Christians should preach on repentance and show Love. Instead, so many preach on love and lack repentance.

[Jesus Preached "Repent the Kingdom of God is at hand" and then walked in love. Even when he preached love it was for correction for those to repent who did walk not in love.
The world goes around telling everyone "Love one another" but then they walk not in the love they preach. Its a superficial love without repentance of the heart. Only repentance can bring one to walk in true love.]

The world doesn’t like this word, so should a church say let us desensitize it or change it to be more acceptable to the people? Let's not talk about repentance but only "Love".

But what was the first message Jesus preached? Repent! The Kingdom of God is at hand!"

No matter how much the word of God is changed or desensitized to suit the world or sin, Gods word and HIS precepts will not change. HE does not change them to suit us or the world. In fact, HIS word opposes the world and has been imposed on the world. HIS ways are not our ways, HIS thoughts are not OUR thoughts. Call sin, sin and say REPENT! Without repentance there is no Hell is full of people who cry and weep and wished that they repented. [Luke 16:19-31, Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30, Revelation 3:19]

True Love of God:

Love is NOT about acting lost, but reaching out to the lost.
Love is NOT accepting sin but reaching out to the sinner.
Love is NOT agreeing with hate but opposing hate at all costs.
Love is NOT shallow, its powerful.
Love is NOT unbecoming, it’s overcoming.
Love is NOT a universal thought, it’s controversial truth.
Love is NOT a human thought for it is God who loved us first.
Love DOES conquer all but only the power of love found in Christ.
Love is NOT God .... God is love!

The devil is subdues without fighting. He use words like “LOVE” Knowing he can’t fight love. True love is God and is undefeatable so the enemy us the world to distort the word.

Love is powerful! The devil knows this. God’s love is powerful and destroys enemy’s foundations and strongholds. So Satan takes the word love and makes it perverse, versatile and less profound. He takes the word love and makes it superficial, albeit retaining the connotation of power. Yet strips it of its true meaning, thus robbing it of it's authority. This distorted love then is used to fight the very thing it claims to be. Now instead of breaking strongholds it is building chains with lies. The word love becomes a word of double meaning used for lust, perversion, idolatry, greed, gluttony, and shallowness. Remember true love is God and when something opposes God it is not love but deception.

We need to turn to the love of CHRIST. Too many Christians and churches try to reach the world with this watered-down superficial love. Not understanding the love of CHRIST is not about telling people it is ok to be sinners. The love of CHRIST is that Jesus died for us while we were still sinners and that HE loves us so much he doesn’t want to leave us bound in that sin.

The love of Christ desires and help us to change to be NEW, what we are designed to be. A life more abundant not bound to sin and shame, but set free. A love that knows you were are a sinner and even make mistakes, but loves you anyway. Yet HIS love says "I have made a way, a better way, no longer to be enslaved to that sin."
His love wars against flesh because it’s a powerful love! So powerful it breaks chains, renews hearts, reunites people, strengthens the weak, makes the poor rich, heals the sick, empowers the hopeless, delivers the undeliverable and rescues the lost from a state of despair. This is the love of CHRIST!

Not a superficial worldly love that claims to love you but ignores you hurting yourself and others just as long as you're happy. They subdue you with the word LOVE while profiting from your sin. They claim “Love wins” while you lose your soul to their lies.

The more tolerance of sin we entertain, the less Godliness we obtain. The true power of love fades behind a word left with only a façade of its origin, now becoming a word of self-indulgence.

Love is not about acting lost, but reaching out to the lost.
Love is not accepting sin but reaching out to the sinner.
Love is not agreeing with hate but opposing hate at all costs.
Love is not shallow, its powerful.
Love is not unbecoming, it’s overcoming.
Love is not a universal thought, it’s controversial truth.
Love is not a human thought for it is God who loved us first.
Love does conquer all but it is only the power of love found in CHRIST.
The biggest misunderstand is Love is not God .... God is love!

The preaching message "You don't need religion just a relationship with Jesus" has corrupted the church leaving so many Christians rootless.

How many writings from major Christian leaders (eg. John Wesley, Martin Luther, George Whitfield etc.) prior to the 20th century OVERTLY claim to have a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS?

John Wesley was so "religious" that is where the name Methodists came from.

The preachers who really hammered this point are Billy Graham, Billy Sunday and other TV evangelists crowds which brought a lot to Christ but with what roots? The American church is now the biggest disseminator of this message.

Now in a time when people are the most distant in their relationships is a good time to steer away from this idea you ONLY need a relationship with Jesus. What is a "relationship with Jesus" without "religion"?

Abraham was a friend of God but why? Because He was obedient dare we say he was religious. David a man after God's own heart was religious

What is Religion definition:
(1) the service and worship of God or the supernatural
(2) commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance

Religion has a negative connotation and people today even claim religion was the pharisees' sin.

But the truth is their sin wasn't religion, in fact any religion they followed is the only thing they were doing right! Matthew 23:23.

The problem is they lost "true religion". James 1:27 describes it. "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world"

The pharisees had polluted religion, as many have through the centuries. Now under the guise of the teaching "all you need is a relationship with Jesus".

The desire to NOT be a "religious pharisee" has ironically caused people to return to the true sin of the pharisees. Hypocrisy.

People say they and Jesus have it all worked out so they don't attend church because they aren't "religious". Now we have a the generation that sees no purpose of church. All they need is this personal relationship.

No rules, no structure. And even worse lack of teaching a personal relationship with Jesus means a relationship with Jesus followers.
Jesus new commandment was to love our brothers and sisters in Christ. How does one claim to love people they want nothing to do with? But many people who claim Christianity and relationship have no desire of church or Bible study.

People believe "the sin of pharisees was religion" because they've heard the lie so long.
Their sin was NOT being religious. Jesus tells the people.....

Matthew 23:2-3
The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what the teach." (Also again in Matthew 23:23)

They did NOT practice what they preached, which was and is, the true failure of why people hate what they believe to be "religion". But Jesus didn't condemn religion he condemned HYPOCRISY!

Many claim they have a personal relationship with Jesus but don't do acts of religion such as help the sick,poor, widows, or love brothers and sisters in Christ, nor attend church, Bible study with Christians, worship, or pray. Then one claims to have a relationship with Jesus, and calls these other acts "religious"
They have inadvertently become hypocrits like the pharisees in their simulacum of religion.

But the full message should be that we need a religious relationship. Jesus told us this truth when HE said

"My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8:21
