Prayer for first day back to school 26-27 school year
Morning Prayer — First Day Back to School
Ref. Psalm 5 — Emphasis Psalm 5:3, 8, 11–12
Heavenly Father,
“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD.” As this new school year begins, we come before You first. Before the classrooms fill, before the lessons begin, before the first bell rings—we acknowledge You. ✝️
Lord, bless every teacher, student, administrator, counselor, bus driver, cafeteria worker, custodian, and staff member walking through those doors today.✝️
For our teachers, give them wisdom when answers are difficult, patience when days are long, compassion when a student is struggling, and strength when they become weary. Remind them that what they do reaches far beyond a classroom—they are touching lives.🙏🏽
For our students, Lord, “make Your way straight before” them. Give them minds ready to learn, hearts willing to listen, courage to make good choices, and discernment concerning the friendships and influences they encounter.
Protect them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Let every child know that their value is not determined by a grade, popularity, appearance, or what someone else says about them. They are precious in Your sight.❤️
And Father, when challenges come, remind teachers and students of Your Word:
“Let all those rejoice who put their trust in You… For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.”📖💒
So today, Lord, surround our schools with Your favor as a shield.
May our teachers teach with purpose.May our students learn with wisdom.May kindness overcome cruelty.May understanding overcome division.May peace overcome confusion.
And wherever Your children walk today, let them carry Your light—not merely by what they say, but by how they live, love, serve, and treat one another.😇
Lord, this is a new school year, filled with things we cannot yet see. But we know You are already there.
Lead them, guide them, protect them, teach them, and bring them safely home.🙏🏽
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our LORD AND SAVIOR.
Amen. 🙏🏽✝️📚🏫
