With great joy, we announce that the Rev. Canon Curtis Benham has been called to serve as the 15th Dean of the Cathedral Church of Saint Luke!

This announcement comes after many months of prayerful discernment and thoughtful work by our Dean Search Committee, Cathedral Chapter, Bishop Justin Holcomb, Canon Dan Smith, and the diocesan team. We give thanks to God for His guidance throughout this process and look forward with great hope to this new chapter in the life of our Cathedral.

Please join us in praying for Canon Benham, his wife, Michelle, and their children, Samuel, Ginny, and Margot, as well as Trinity Parish and our Cathedral family, as we prepare to welcome them. Canon Benham will begin his ministry with us on December 1, 2026.

Join us Tuesday, September 15 at 6 p.m. for the Cathedral’s Order of St. Luke Healing Service with Holy Eucharist. All are welcome to come and pray for healing for themselves, for someone they love, or for the needs of our community and world.

The OSL Healing Service is offered on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

“The pulpit is one of the Cathedral’s most iconic and meaningful features. Built to the specifications of Philip Hubert Frohman, architect of both the Cathedral Church of Saint Luke and Washington National Cathedral, it was carved by Ernest Pellegrini, one of the nation’s finest ecclesiastical sculptors. Around its base are figures of Joseph Butler, Saint Augustine, Saint Paul the Apostle, and Phillips Brooks.”

For a century, generations of clergy have stood in this pulpit to preach God’s Word, calling the people of the Cathedral to look to God and Christ alone.

One week away! 📖

Have you ever wondered about the books of the Bible you don’t hear about very often?

This fall we are diving into the Apocrypha, a collection of ancient writings filled with stories of faith, suffering, courage, wisdom, and hope.

Using Daniel Harrington’s Invitation to the Apocrypha as our guide, we’ll explore these often-overlooked books together. No previous knowledge or Bible-study experience needed. Beginners are very welcome!

Wednesdays, September 9 - November 4

Today after our staff meeting, Fr. Garrett led the Cathedral staff on a prayer walk and blessing throughout our campus. With prayers and the sprinkling of holy water, we blessed the livestream and audio technology, air-conditioning systems, Cathedral roof, Dean’s Study, Great Hall, and other spaces that support our shared life. Finally, we prayed for the people who fill these spaces, especially families of every age and size, that they may feel at home, grow in faith, be empowered to serve, and find meaningful connection at the Cathedral.

The Cathedral Young Families small group spent the afternoon together at the Orlando Science Center on Saturday!

The group will meet for dinner and discussion (with childcare) tomorrow, September 1, from 5-7 p.m. in the Great Hall. Families with young children are invited to attend and connect. Visit the group in the Church Center app to learn more or contact Fr. Garrett Puccetti for more information.

Cathedral Youth have started a new semester together! All 6th–12th graders are invited to come connect, build friendships, and grow in faith together. The Youth Group is a place for young people to know the depth of God’s love, embrace who God created them to be, and recognize how valued they are at the Cathedral and in the world.
