JAMES 2:14-17
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

MATTHEW 13:13-15 AMP
13 This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] SEEING they do not SEE, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things].

14 In them the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,

You will hear and keep on hearing, but never understand; And you will LOOK and keep on LOOKING, but never comprehend;

15 For this nation’s HEART has grown hard, And with their ears they hardly hear,
And they have [tightly] closed their EYES, Otherwise they would SEE with their EYES, And hear with their ears, And understand with their HEART, and TURN [to Me] And I would heal them [spiritually].’

25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[e] 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[f]
