I'll be uploading my next video very soon on Spiritual Gifts.
There's some big differences in theology between biblical Christianity and Mormonism when it comes to this.

As a Christian, when I hear with faith, I'm sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
"Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?" (Galatians 3:2)

"While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word." (Acts 10:44)

However, for the Latter-day Saint, you have to qualify yourself before you can receive any gifts. One of those qualifications is that you must make yourself clean by repenting of all of your sins, then being baptized by the proper priesthood authority.

After baptism, you receive the Holy Ghost not by hearing, but by the laying on of hands.
Any spiritual gifts you receive after this come in blessings also by the priesthood. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is directly channeled through the priesthood to the receiver instead of instantaneously through the Holy Spirit.

When you partake of the Sacrament, you renew the covenants made at your baptism. This makes you clean again.

So sin that you hadn't repented of can actually cause the Holy Spirit to withdraw from you, until you're cleansed again on Sunday.

Yet, like scripture says, "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." (Romans 11:29)

The Bible says He will never leave us or forsake us.
What kind of Father would hide his face from his children when they make a mistake?

My next video, which should be going up in a few days, is about Spiritual Gifts.
Now, if this were a video about what I thought about Spiritual Gifts, it would have been up already. I've got much to say, as I'm Charismatic myself.

But I've had to research the LDS view on Spiritual Gifts, which is far different. Trying to see how I can tie that into a message that's beneficial.
Besides those laid out in 1 Corinthians 12, LDS hold that there's a near infinite amount of gifts and different types of gifts. There's a gift of Administration, one of discernment of administration, a gift of pondering, a gift of music... all very interesting.

But according to their Authorities, like Brucie here, gifts are given according to personal righteousness. Which I feel contrasts the biblical narrative of Christ being our righteousness. Believers in the NT worked in gifts instantly after being infilled.
