Navraatri Day 1 โ€ข Maa Shailputri

Today, we begin Navraatri by honoring Maa Shailputri, the first of Maa Durgaโ€™s nine forms. Her name means โ€œDaughter of the Mountain,โ€ as she was born as the daughter of Himalaya.

Depicted riding a bull and holding a trishul and lotus, Maa Shailputri represents strength, steadfastness, and devotion. White is traditionally associated with her worship, symbolizing purity and peace. Devotees seek her blessings for inner strength, stability, prosperity, and spiritual growth.

May Maa Shailputri help us remain grounded in faith and move forward with courage and a peaceful heart. ๐Ÿ™

Kanya Puja is a sacred Navaratri ceremony honoring young girls as representations of Durga Deviโ€™s nine auspicious forms. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Join us at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir as we perform Kanya Puja with the little Devis of our Mandir.

๐Ÿ“… Sunday, October 18th (in 2 weeks)
โฐ 9:00 AM

According to traditional belief, honoring one girl brings good fortune; two, wisdom and liberation; and three, spiritual merit. Honoring four and five girls is associated with authority and knowledge, six with the six Siddhis, seven with power and sovereignty, eight with wealth, and nine with supremacy.

Through this beautiful tradition, we honor the Divine Mother and recognize her presence in our little Devis. ๐ŸŒธ

We warmly invite you and your family to join us for this special occasion. Gifts for the little Devis are welcome and encouraged. ๐ŸŽ

If you are bringing edible gifts, please ensure they are store-bought and factory-sealed. Kindly check the ingredients to make sure they are vegetarian and free of eggs and gelatin.

May Maa Durga bless every home with love, strength, and peace. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™
