“Shoeboxes are a tangible way for kids to see how they can make a difference in another child’s life for the Lord,” said Pastor Tommy Larison, elementary pastor at CrossLife Church in Oviedo, Florida. Larison and Evangelism Outreach pastor, Jeff Dunson, visited our Orlando office to capture video for their upcoming Vacation Bible School. They walked around the warehouse and saw cases of shoeboxes stacked high ready for shipment to Haiti.

We desire to offer ways for kids to help kids and be part of missions. “When kids give a shoebox to a child in need, they’re not just sending gifts, they’re becoming the hands and feet of Jesus. They are learning compassion, generosity, and the joy of making a real difference in someone else’s life.,” said Darren Goodrich, children’s pastor at LifePointe Church in Eustis, Fla. Pastor Rodney Bice, senior pastor at Waterville Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tenn. said, “We are never more like Jesus than when we are giving and serving.” Their kids collect offerings during the summer VBS for the children of New Missions.

Are kids at your church on a mission? Find resources at newmissions.org/vbs to highlight missions during your VBS. Most importantly, invite your kids to pray for the children of New Missions.” -Tim DeTellis

Today in Haiti: To God be the glory, 31 Haitians followed in believer’s baptism from nine of our churches. The baptism festival took place at the New Missions church in Bossier, Haiti. Haitians are making disciples and lives are changed forever. Thank you for your faithful prayers for Haiti.

“On January 6, 2026, New Missions celebrated 43 years of ministry in Haiti. Praise God for His faithfulness! For more than four decades, the Gospel has been proclaimed and lives have been transformed through Christian education, nutrition, medical care. and employment opportunities. The true impact is best understood by those whose lives have been changed.

Gratitude marked January’s annual convention, where Pastor Guy Fontaine was honored for 42 years of faithful service. Many graduates helped lead the event-organizing, preaching, singing, and preparing meals.

Pastor Yaguel from our Bord-Mer church delivered the Sunday message, urging believers to be ready for Christ’s return. Pastor Mario from our Signeau church led a men’s group, Celestial Lighthouse, in a song encouraging them to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Jonas Bertrand, now a lawyer who has served in government positions, shared how his life was transformed. Before his success as a lawyer, he was once so poor he searched for land crabs just to survive.
He urges students to remain faithful in their studies.

We thank God for this lasting fruit and look ahead with hope for continued Kingdom impact.”

“Good teachers deliver lessons their students are required to learn. Great teachers look beyond the curriculum to see the child as a whole. They notice individual needs, respond with compassion, and ensure no student slips through the cracks.

Lucy Arias is one such teacher. At Colegio Nueva Vida, she works closely with fellow educators to identify and support students who are struggling. When she recognized that one student was having difficulty with reading and writing, she partnered with the school director and the child’s parents to arrange an evaluation. Since then, Lucy meets with him several afternoons each week. The results have been remarkable. Not only has he grown academically, but his confidence has strengthened and his desire to learn has flourished.

Leonely Gonzalez, a teacher at our school in Los Castillos, also goes above and beyond. She cultivates a classroom based on trust and respect-listening attentively to her students and valuing their voices. By maintaining consistent communication with parents, she builds strong partnerships that support every child’s success. We are deeply grateful for these exceptional teachers and their faithful investment in their students” futures.” ~Heather Williams Katz

“Open the warehouse doors! Once we fill the warehouse in Haiti, we empty it within a few days. One by one, the trucks back up to be loaded with enough gifts for our students at each school. The journey of a shoebox to a student starts from your home and travels through Orlando. Shoeboxes are packed into cases, then stacked onto pallets, loaded in a cargo container, and finally placed on a ship to travel through the Caribbean to the island of Hispaniola.

On February 25th and March 4th we sent two additional cargo containers to Haiti. They had already received a delivery of 3,298 shoeboxes and the Dominican Republic received 4,026 shoeboxes. This was the first time we shipped a cargo container to the DR. Our field director, Heather Williams Katz, was thrilled to have shoebox gifts to give away. Heather said, “It was such a blessing for each of our students to receive a shoebox at Christmas! From the youngest to the oldest, every student was filled with joy as they opened their special gifts. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality.”

You can start your shoebox drive early by involving kids from your church during VBS. Learn more at newmissions.org/vbs.”
