Enjoy this special update from Pastor Yaguel Nerat in Haiti about our Teacher Conference. Our teachers are on the front row of seeing lives changed. During a three-day event, there will be instruction for our teachers on best practices in the classroom. They will enjoy lunch together plus a snack break. Besides coming together in a large group, they will have sessions in smaller groups with age appropriate material presented by different teachers. We will send 148 teachers and the 21 school directors from our Haitian campuses. This conference was hosted August 27-29, 2026 at our high school campus in Signeau, Haiti.

“Since joining the New Missions team in February, I have witnessed God’s hand at work and felt a special purpose in being here. I entered this ministry hoping to make an impact. but I now believe God’s intention was for me to be impacted. There’s no joy quite like being a part of a ministry. Getting to witness the profound difference being made in these children’s lives here at New Missions is a special joy.
God can use people in any environment to create change.

Making a difference can appear daunting, but often the most significant contributions can come from the smallest actions done in love.
Our 19th annual Shoebox Drive is the perfect opportunity to do something that may seem small to us, but is an eternal blessing to these children and their families. From October 1 to December 31, 2026, you can join us in sharing the greatest gift we can give: the love of Jesus. Whether you order a shoebox, pack your own to give through your church’s drive, or ship it directly to our Orlando office, your contribution matters. Our individual actions may be small, but with God and each other, we can have a greater impact. Will you join us and be one more?”

“Nearly 400 high school students chose to spend five hours together in a special service to close out the school year. According to Pastor Sheguer Marc. a graduate of both our high school and Bible college. who now oversees ministry among the students, there was a noticeable spiritual hunger throughout the gathering. Students led worship, prayed and preached-making it a blessed and powerful time.

One of the worship leaders was Jeanne Widlise
Alexis, an Iith grade student who participates in the high school prayer group and regularly helps lead worship during chapel services. The speaker was Kensy Delma, a graduate of New Missions who is also studying at our Bible college. He challenged students to maintain an eternal perspective and to seek God daily by turning away from the things that hinder spiritual growth.

While many students celebrated their country’s
World Cup qualification, they also expressed their deep sadness for Haiti’s current struggles. Together, they fervently cried out to God on behalf of their leaders and nation. It was a great conclusion to a successful school year.” ~Rachel DeTellis

“A memory I’ll never forget is visiting the Dominican Republic to meet my two sponsor children. The interesting part about meeting someone that you have prayed for and written to is how much your heart is already full of love and joy for them. I am still amazed how when I give a gift of sponsorship, someone else is blessed; this is humbling. The mutual gift is when I realize how both of us are being changed. The investment in the life of a child and partnering with their family is so important. I met my sponsor children at church in Los Castillos. We sat together during church and watched the discipleship process of God changing lives and bearing fruit. We cannot measure success by what we give, but in knowing that we impact heaven daily.

You are invited to visit your sponsor child in the Dominican Republic. Join a special vision trip and sponsor trip September 30 - October 5, 2027. You can learn more at newmissions.org/visit and prayerfully consider coming to Sosua, Dominican Republic.”

Dominican Republic Happening Now! “We gave a first aid and CPR class to all of our staff. Bertha Rojas and Sam Perez are nursing students and Laira Padilla is taking an EMT course. Each one of them prepared and shared the lessons on allergies and anaphylactic shock, seizures, the Heimlich maneuver, CPR and how to use AEDs. They did a great job and what a proud moment to see our alumni (and current employees) using the skills and knowledge God has given them. The news that generous donors had given money to buy AEDs for each of our school locations and health center was met with a round of applause by our staff. We were able to use the new manikins and practice AED so that everyone had a change to practice what they had learned.” ~Heather Williams Katz

“Recently, I attended the graduation ceremony in Los Castillos, where kindergarten and sixth-grade students celebrated an important milestone. It was a day filled with proud families, joyful smiles, and excitement for the future. Yet for our sixth-grade graduates, the celebration was also bittersweet.

As we talked with the students, many shared how much they wished they could continue their education with us. Sadly, because we do not yet have a high school in Los Castillos, they must leave the school they love and attend schools much farther away. For some families. the additional cost of daily transportation will place a heavy burden on an already limited budget. Others will face the uncertainty of adjusting to a completely new environment during these important teenage years.

Building a high school in Los Castillos would do more than add classrooms-it would give students the opportunity to continue receiving a Christ-centered education close to home, surrounded by the teachers and community who know and love them. Your prayers and generous financial support can help make this dream a reality. Together, we can give these students the opportunity to keep learning, keep growing, and keep following God’s plan for their lives.”
