Ten years ago, Orlando lost 49 of its own. As followers of Jesus, we stand for love in all its forms, and we condemn the hate and brokenness that result in violence. The Pulse nightclub shooting was a horrific tragedy, and yet God responded with an invitation to love more fiercely; and the community of Orlando responded by holding vigils and Pride Events, gathering together to heal relationships and splashing rainbows all around our City Beautiful. As part of this community, The Hearth also stands for love. We stand for acceptance. We stand for dignity. And we will continue to stand up against judgment, exclusion, and hate.

God, we pray for those who were snatched from this life too soon. We pray for their families and loved ones who mourn. We pray for all those who continue to suffer from memories of that night—those inside Pulse, those working at ORMC, and all those who bore witness to this tragedy. We pray that our community continues to show up and love fiercely, and we stand in the assurance that You will not let hate win.
