RiverStone Christian Church

RiverStone Christian Church We help people live better lives by building a foundation of hope in Jesus Christ. Come check us out! Sundays at 10:45am! No one loves you more than He does.

We believe in the truth and transformational power of the Gospel message.

- Everyone has lived enough life to know it can be hard… and no matter what you did, or what was done to you, we believe you can reconnect to God through Jesus. We invite you to come and see how a life with Jesus is better. We don’t have it all figured out, but if you simply follow Jesus, and adjust your life to His teachi

ngs, He will lead you on an exciting spiritual journey. We believe in loving people the way God loves people.

- It’s not our job to “fix” you… we have created environments to help you experience the love of God. You don’t need to clean up your life to come to RiverStone. Our heart is that you can come to RiverStone and leave with a sense of belonging, knowing you are loved! We believe in journeying with other people, helping them grow in Christ so that they can help others do the same thing.

- Starting a new journey can be scary and confusing if you do not know where you are going. What’s worse is feeling as though you have to take this journey alone. We are here to help you grow in Christ by journeying alongside you. There is not a better opportunity for growth than our High Def. Groups. HD Groups meet in the homes of our leaders to discuss life, encourage one another, and take a deeper look at Sunday’s message. HD Groups will help provide clarity and resolution for times of uncertainty and doubt. In the HD Groups you will find people who have “been there and done that” or people who are currently going through a similar season of life as you. We are sure you will develop friendships that will change your life. We believe the goal of our existence is to reflect God in every aspect of our being.

- We want to live a life of purpose. As we reflect Christ to our community, we know we are finding the purpose He created us for. The RiverStone community loves, forgives, and hopes for others by living with purpose. We believe in serving and blessing people by living out our faith with purpose and relevance. We believe in blessing the people of Ogle County by living out our mission through acts of service.

- We work with community leaders in order to make Ogle County better by volunteering at community events and celebrations. We are part of God’s plan to give hope to the world and therefore, we are sent to bless and serve Ogle County.

Day 5: Sharing Life with Words

Scripture: Proverbs 10:21
"The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense."

God calls us to use our speech to nourish others. As you go about your day, look for ways to share life-giving words with those around you. Whether through encouragement, sharing the gospel, or speaking truth in love, let your words be a source of spiritual nourishment that points others to Christ.

Prayer: Lord, use my words to feed and nourish those around me. Let them be a reflection of Your love and truth. Amen.

Reflect: How can you intentionally use your words today to spiritually nourish someone in your life?

Day 4: Overcoming Challenges

Scripture: Proverbs 4:23
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."

Guarding our hearts is essential to overcoming the challenges of controlling our tongue. Our words are often triggered by stress, anger, or fear. Commit to guarding your heart through prayer, scripture, and accountability, allowing God to shape your responses to life’s pressures.

Prayer: Father, help me guard my heart. May Your Spirit guide my responses and fill my heart with peace. Amen.

Reflect: What steps can you take to guard your heart against the pressures that lead to harmful speech?

Day 3: Transforming Speech

Scripture: James 3:9-10
"With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God."

James reminds us of the duplicity in our speech. We cannot praise God and curse others with the same tongue. Today, focus on transforming your speech, so it consistently honors God and uplifts those around you. Seek opportunities to speak life, encouragement, and truth, aligning your words with your faith.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, transform my speech. Help me to consistently speak words that honor You and bless others. Amen.

Reflect: How can you ensure your speech aligns with the worship you offer to God?

Day 2: Words Reflect the Heart

Scripture: Matthew 12:34
"For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."

Our words are a window into our hearts. Jesus challenges us to understand that what we say reveals the condition of our inner life. If we find ourselves speaking in anger, gossip, or deceit, it may be time to examine what’s truly residing in our hearts. Seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance to purify your heart, so that your words can reflect the goodness and truth of Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, cleanse my heart. Let the words I speak today be a true reflection of Your love within me. Amen.

Reflect: What do your recent words reveal about the state of your heart?

Day 1: The Power of Words

Scripture: Proverbs 10:19
"When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent."

Reflect on the power of your words today. Proverbs teaches us that the more we speak, the greater the risk of sinning. Our culture often encourages constant communication, but scripture invites us to practice restraint and wisdom. Consider how your words can either build up or tear down those around you. Choose to use your words sparingly and wisely, allowing them to be a reflection of Christ’s love and grace.

Prayer: Lord, help me to guard my tongue today. May my words be few, and may they reflect Your wisdom and love. Amen.

Reflect: How can you practice restraint in your speech today to bring grace to others?

The Integrity of Relationships Daily Devotional
Day 5: Lowering Yourself in Humility

Scripture: Proverbs 3:34
"Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor."

Humility is key to building lasting, authentic relationships. When we lower ourselves, we open the door to God's favor and grace. Humility allows us to admit our mistakes, seek forgiveness, and serve others selflessly. By putting others first, we mirror Christ's example and create a culture of love and respect. As we walk humbly, we invite others to experience the transformative power of God's love.

Prayer: Jesus, teach me to walk in humility, placing others before myself and serving them as You have served me.

Reflect: How can practicing humility transform your relationships and bring glory to God?
