Every year Blackhawk Camp has a Slumber Party followed by a day camp the next day. This year we are scheduling TWO different dates so you can have TWICE the fun! The first one is July 10-11 and the second is July 26-27. Come to one or both. For grades K thru 5th. Get the registration forms and more information on our website at blackhawkcamp.org. Remember this great camp manager? Bill Appleman spent an lots amount of time at Blackhawk Camp as both a volunteer and as Camp Manager. He was instrumental in setting up the RV and Family Camping Area supervising the installation of water and electricity back to the camp sites. The Board voted at its January 2026 meeting to name the family camping area, The Appleman Family Camp Ground in memory of Bill and his dedication to Blackhawk.

American Baptist Men Work Days at Blackhawk Camp are scheduled for June 1-4, Monday through Thursday. Join us for fun, food and fellowship. Bring a sleeping bag and lots of energy. Some of our projects include clearing trees and trails, rebuilding the basketball retaining walls, beginning work on the Lakota cabin including electrical and wallboard. NEW! Coming June 26-28 BIKE CAMP. Register now at our website blackhawkcamp.org to attend our newest camp. Bring a bike in good working condition, a helmet and water bottle as we set out to bike the trails at Blackhawk Camp. For grades 6-12 this camp includes all the other fun activities like swimming, games, vespers, campfires, but we will enjoy bike activities too! Our directors are Greg Henson, an electric bike fan, James Johnson, an expert dirt bike racer, and Jessica Henson an all around fun person. Included in the $150 fee is a camp T-shirt, room and board. Did I mention that the camp food is excellent! Hurry and register, we have to limit the number of campers on this camp.

We have been promoting this event all summer long & registration time is fast approaching!

Area I Youth is offering to cover registration ($225) for 10 youth in our area on a first come first serve basis! You will still be responsible for the ski and water park fees (additional $225). BUT we’re not going to let cost be a problem, so if you know a student who’d love to ski and swim their MLK weekend away, send an email to [email protected] where I’ll get you registration forms and we can talk about additional financial help if needed.

The event is for students grades 6th-college!

Forms are due back to me via email by THIS SUNDAY the 12th so I can get an official Area 1 headcount and send the forms to the right people by the 13th deadline!
