But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

Reflection:
One thing we must never get out of order is how our worship happens. God initiates, we respond. Always. We can never get that mixed up and believe that our worship somehow causes God to do something in us. God initiates, we respond.

We see here that we are a chosen people – chosen by God, called by God, gathered by God and brought in by God to be part of His family. We are a royal priesthood – ordained by God, set apart by God to do the holy work of God He has created us to do. We are a holy nation – not first by ethnic heritage or birthplace but a global nation set apart to demonstrate the goodness and grace of our God. We are God’s special possession – owned by God, valued by God, protected and treasured by God because we belong to Him.

The call to vocational ministry is a vital one. Please pray for our ERCU pastor's and other vocational ministers. Also. pray that young people will be raised up responding 'yes' to Christ when he calls them to serve Him with their whole lives. This video shows a few of those serving in ministry who are part of the ERCU family. Each of them shares how God 'called' them into ministry.

7 ercu pastors met today for lunch at Applebee's. I asked everyone to wear their ugly Christmas sweater which some came close but apparently they said I won. The reason for doing that is that I wanted to get a group picture, which I forgot to do. So here, you get my ugly Christmas sweater. 🤪
