“An Old-Fashioned Christmas” with the Fireside Social Orchestra.

Prepare to enjoy a memorable evening of Christmas music from the 1800s and early 1900s on period instruments and voices. The
Fireside Social Orchestra recreates the small orchestra featured in parlor and ballroom performances of long ago playing period instruments. The program in the Pioneer Church will feature familiar Christmas carols in their original forms, along with carols from the English, Scottish and French countryside, descriptive holiday instrumental pieces and some surprises.
Featuring Phil andGayle Neuman of The Trail Band, with Laura Kuhlman and Cindy Markham of The Oregon Renaissance Band, and cellist Elizabeth O’Connor and cornetist Mark McCormick.

At Baker Cabin On March 19 - 11:30 – 1:30 there will be Docents (guides) -- and the cabin and church will be open. Continuing with local history, there will be talks by a local architect about cabin architecture and design in the Pacific Northwest, the US, and even Europe.

There will be demonstrations of pioneer carpentry. Come try your hand at our new tools.
