Leadership in action! 📸✨

In case you missed the post shared from OCSD, our Pastor, Rev. Charlie Thomas, recently stepped in as Principal for the Day as part of National Principals Month with the Orangeburg County School District at Brookdale Elementary School!

This highlights some of the day with our Pastor connecting with students and staff. Grateful for these moments and the strong partnerships which help build a brighter future for our children! (In these images, our Pastor is featured alongside OCSD Superintendent Dr. Shawn Foster, the school principal, Dr. Jacqueline Jamison, and some incredible students and staff.) Spending the day in classrooms and seeing the dedication of our educators offers a wonderful broadened perspective on school leadership.

When our community, faith leaders, and schools work hand-in-hand, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom. (And by the way, our First Lady, Rev. Brenda Thomas was also out representing at Sheridan Elementary!) 📚🤝

When the school district invited our Pastor, as a community leader, to step into the school hallways for National Principals Month, it wasn't just an exercise in shadowing—it was an invitation to build a deeper bridge between our neighborhood and our classrooms. We are incredibly proud that our Pastor, Rev. Charlie Thomas, took part in this "Principal for a Day" experience, bringing a heart for service and community leadership directly into the school day.

While the district's initiative focused on giving leaders a firsthand look at the incredible energy, daily challenges, and swift decision-making required to run a school, our Pastor's participation adds a powerful layer of local partnership. Faith and mentorship have always been vital anchors in our community, and having our Pastor walk the corridors, interact with students, and encourage our dedicated teachers is a testament to that ongoing commitment.

As the district rightly notes, programs like this are about more than mere observation; they are about forging lasting connections that turn everyday community members into lifelong champions for public education.

We celebrate our Rev. Thomas and First Lady Rev. Brenda Thomas on their active involvement in this wonderful event, knowing that when our churches, families, and schools lock arms to support our youth, the positive impact ripples far beyond the classroom and shapes the future of our entire community.

Building strong roots starts with showing up. Though Pastor Thomas is relatively new to the area, he has made it a priority to connect with the heartbeat of our community from day one—welcoming students back for the new school year and recently participating in the school district’s faith leaders meeting. We are excited for all the ways we can partner to uplift our students and teachers!

Please plan to join us on Laity Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 10am. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Spencer C. Disher, III. This year’s theme is “Together By Grace! - Be Grounded in Love”.

Laity Sunday celebrates the ministry of all Christians as they love God and neighbor. As God’s people grow in grace to become “all-love” disciples in community, we gather with others to connect all to God’s saving love in Jesus Christ. So, on Laity Sunday, we continue to lift up God’s call to all who follow the way of Jesus and lead others to him - specifically as we consider what it means to cherish/protect what has been entrusted to us: our witness to grace at work in every life.

Three days of faith, fellowship, and family as we came together for our “Friends & Family - Meet Our New Pastor Celebration Weekend”! It was a powerful weekend of unity, worship, and joy! Thank you to our church family, volunteers, and guests for gathering across all three days—from Friday games to Saturday’s "Scoop & Stories" and Sunday’s worship—as we celebrated 160 years of ministry and welcomed our pastor, Rev. Charlie Thomas and First Lady Rev. Brenda Thomas.

We kicked off our special weekend with an energetic Mingle Hunt icebreaker to get everyone connecting, followed by delicious pizza, Bingo, and a very lively game of Bible Family Feud! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and multi-generational fellowship across all ages.

Saturday was a sweet treat as we gathered to watch the video screening of "Married at Trinity" before enjoying our Ice Cream Social. This film captures and preserves the wonderful stories of couples who began their lifelong journey together at Trinity—celebrating the enduring legacies of love that began right at our altar.

We reached the spiritual peak of the celebration weekend with a powerful worship service featuring Rev. Charlie Thomas’s impactful sermon, "The Merciful Father," as we officially welcomed our installed pastor, followed by a wonderful fellowship meal. Thank you to key community leaders who joined us and provided special welcome greetings. We give thanks for Rev. Thomas’s leadership and look forward to this new season of ministry together.
