Tonight we held our annual meeting with our congregation. We heard from Olga, about all of the incredible things our religious school has done this year. We heard from our Rabbi, about this past year and learned how this year is his 25th anniversary of becoming ordained. We heard from Lindsey, our president, all about this past year, what we’ve done, and where we’re going with our future as a community. We voted on new board members, our new budget, and shared so much more. It’s always amazing to get our community together like this.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Today, our Cemetery Committee gave our Board a full overview and tour full of insights into our Temple Emanuel Cemetery. Did you know that we have our own designated cemetery where we lay our community members to rest? Our committee is led by Anne, who takes immense pride in the gardening and upkeep. We also have a bench built by our Rabbi (as he says “with supervision of course”) under the trees where family and friends can sit in the shade. Walking through our cemetery gives such an insight into the generations that have formed our incredible community.

We ended our religious school year with our parents gifting our entire staff with end of the year gifts. We love how much they have all enjoyed their custom bags and the treats tucked inside of them! We know the students can’t wait to see them all back again in September.

We are a community of volunteers keeping our synagogue up and running. We are also a community of volunteers keeping our religious school up and running. These ladies recently met for several hours to recap this school year and begin planning for the next year and word is they have a lot of fun and excitement up their sleeves. We cannot wait to see what’s to come!

Last summer, the Torah scroll was delivered to Shir Jadash! Tears of joy were shed, as the Valencia Jewish community continues to grow and thrive. Am Israel Chai, the Jewish people continue to build its life around the Torah, its values, and its lessons. We were truly honored to do this on behalf of Temple Emanuel and look forward to continue sharing the Torah’s journey.
