Happy Father’s Day to the dads, stepdads, uncles, grandpas, mentors, and father figures who shape our lives in ways words can hardly capture. ❤️

Thank you for the patience, unconditional love, guidance, laughter, and wisdom you pour into the people around you. Thank you for teaching us how to persevere through hard seasons, how to love others well, how to serve, and how to keep our faith at the center of it all.

Whether you taught us to love sports, music, family traditions, or simply how to be kind and resilient, your influence has left a lasting mark on who we are today.

Today, we celebrate the men who showed up, stood beside us, and helped make us who we are. Your impact reaches farther than you know.

Jesus’ decision to bring together such a diverse group of men shows His desire to unite His followers today. He calls us to come together as one body so that we can faithfully carry out the mission He has given us and go into the world in His name.

When we return to this passage, we realize that many Christians—including ourselves—have prayed these words for years. Yet if we are honest, we have not always acted on them.

Too often, believers hear the story of Christ and stop there. We become satisfied with listening rather than living out what we have heard. We hear about God’s mercy, His love, and His call to follow Him and serve others, and we respond, “Amen, I believe that.” But faith was never meant to remain only an agreement in our minds—it is meant to be reflected in the way we live, serve, and follow Christ every day.

We were blessed to witness the baptism of two twins, celebrating a special milestone in their faith journey. We also took time to honor and thank our outgoing officers for their dedication, hard work, and service in helping make St. John’s a stronger church family.

During the service, we welcomed and installed our new officers—from our secretary to our school board leaders—as they step into their new roles and responsibilities. We are grateful for their willingness to serve and lead in this next chapter.

As we look ahead to Father’s Day weekend, we’re excited to celebrate the incredible fathers and father figures in our lives. We’d love for you to join us in person as we continue worshiping, growing, and serving together.

Jesus invites us to pray to the Father, sends His followers into the world, and gives us the Holy Spirit to be our Helper, Comforter, and Encourager—the very breath behind every act of ministry and mission.

When Jesus first sent out the twelve disciples, He instructed them to begin with the lost sheep of Israel. He was showing them that ministry often starts close to home, among the people we already know and love. Those who are hurting, searching, struggling, or feeling far from God are often the very people He places in our path.

Later, Jesus sent out seventy-two more disciples, expanding the reach of the Gospel. Their mission was to carry God’s light into dark places, bringing hope, healing, restoration, and the good news of the Kingdom wherever they went.

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus gathers the lost, feeds the hungry, protects the vulnerable, heals the wounded, and restores the broken. He also calls His followers to join Him in that work—to be faithful servants who help care for, encourage, and point others back to Him.

The mission continues today. We are called to share Christ’s love with those around us, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide, strengthen, and equip us every step of the way.

May we have hearts that are willing to pray, hands that are willing to serve, and faith that is willing to go wherever Jesus leads. 🤍

This past Saturday morning, nearly 150 men gathered together for breakfast, fellowship, encouragement, and faith.

We were honored to hear from Coach Ray Fenton, Head Football Coach at Orange Lutheran High School, as he shared his powerful testimony and journey from being a transactional Christian to becoming an intentional Christian who puts God first in every area of life.

Coach Fenton spoke about how this transformation has shaped not only his personal walk with Christ but also his coaching philosophy. His focus extends far beyond developing athletes on the field—he is committed to mentoring, guiding, and shaping young men into leaders of character, integrity, and faith.

Thank you, Coach Fenton, for your authenticity, wisdom, and reminder that true success is found when we place God at the center of our lives.

Pastor Tim talks about how many of us grow up believing that God is disappointed in us every time we mess up. We often carry guilt, shame, and the fear that one wrong decision could somehow push us outside of His love. But Scripture tells a very different story.

God is full of mercy. His heart is not focused on punishment but on healing and restoration. Jesus made this clear when He said, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” God is not looking for perfection, performance, or a flawless track record—He is looking for a relationship with us.

In everyday life, we all fall short. We lose our patience, make mistakes, wrestle with doubt, and carry regrets from things we wish we could undo. Yet God doesn’t respond by walking away or keeping score of our failures. Instead, His mercy meets us right in those places.

When life feels overwhelming and you find yourself replaying your mistakes, remember this: God’s love isn’t defined by your best moments, and His mercy isn’t limited by your worst ones. He sees your heart, your growth, your struggles, and every step you’re taking forward.

Faith is not about living in fear of judgment. It’s about learning to trust a God whose grace is greater than our failures and whose mercy is new every morning. 🤍✨.

Pastor Trevor talked about how the story of Matthew’s calling is often misunderstood. The focus isn’t on Matthew choosing to follow Jesus—it’s on Jesus choosing Matthew. Matthew didn’t leave his tax booth simply because he decided to make a change; he left because Jesus saw him, called him, and invited him into something greater.

What makes this story so powerful is that it reflects each of our own journeys of faith. Jesus is the one who calls us. Jesus is the one who chooses us. He doesn’t wait for us to have everything figured out, to be perfect, or to have our lives completely together before inviting us to follow Him. He calls us exactly as we are.

He reminded us that this truth should be our anchor during difficult seasons. When we face struggles, doubts, failures, or hardships, we can hold on to the fact that Christ chose us first. Our worth and purpose are not based on our accomplishments or our ability to be perfect, but on the grace of the One who called us.

Whether you were called as a child or later in life, the invitation remains the same: to follow Jesus and become who He created you to be. Never forget that you have been called, you have been chosen, and you are deeply loved by God. 🤍✨

Jesus reminds us that His grace is for those who know they need it. This passage points us to the heart of the Gospel: we are not saved because we are good enough, but because Christ came for sinners. We bring nothing to God except our need, and He meets us with mercy, forgiveness, and life.

The world tells us to fix ourselves before coming to God. Jesus says, “Come as you are.” He is the Great Physician who heals what sin has broken and freely gives His righteousness to us through faith.

Today, rest in the truth that Christ did not come for the perfect—He came for you.

We had the opportunity to hear from Pastor Tim and Trevor, celebrate Memorial Day weekend together, and spend time in the courtyard learning more about the amazing work Grace Works is doing.

Grateful for community, connection, and a reminder of God’s grace in action. ❤️
