Loyola Institute for Spirituality

Loyola Institute for Spirituality "Bringing Spirituality to Life" - L.I.S. offers spiritual experiences and religious formation in the Ignatian tradition.

A sponsored ministry of Jesuits West Province. Loyola Institute for Spirituality provides opportunities for growth in spirituality by offering retreats, parish missions, days of prayer, conferences, and ministerial training. In addition to direct services, LIS offers courses and other training opportunities for the purpose of enabling individuals and groups to address their own spiritual needs and

to help others in their spiritual growth. LIS works collaboratively with retreat centers, schools, parishes, dioceses, community and church organizations. LIS works not only with Roman Catholics, but also in an ecumenical and inter-religious manner with people of any or no specific religious tradition. We seek to serve all, giving special attention to the poor and marginal.

Sometimes grace shows up in the quiet moments we almost overlook.

A conversation that brought comfort. A deep breath during a difficult day. A moment of laughter. A reminder that we are not alone.

Ignatian spirituality invites us to find God in all things, not only in retreats or prayer, but within the ordinary moments of everyday life. Where did you find God today?

As we celebrate the Ascension, may we remember that Jesus does not leave us behind...He sends us forth.

The Ascension is not an ending, but a mission: to find God in all things, to become contemplatives in action, and to carry Christ’s love into the world with courage and joy.

Today, may we ask:
Where is God inviting me to rise beyond fear, comfort, or complacency and become a witness of hope?

We are proud to honor Rev. Agbonkhianmeghe E. Orobator, SJ, as a Hearts on Fire award recipient.

In this reflection, he shares how Ignatian spirituality calls him to a life of continual “yes”, saying yes to God, to service, and to the needs of the world around him.

His words remind us that vocation is not a single moment, but a daily choice to respond with courage, faith, and openness.

On Apirl 25th at our Hearts on Fire celebration, we will recognize Maryanne Russell with the Love in Action Award.

In this reflection, Maryanne shares how Ignatian spirituality continues to shape the way she lives and serves today, grounding her work in purpose, presence, and a deep awareness of God in all things.

Her witness is a reminder that love is not only something we feel, but something we practice.
