As we approach the 2nd Sunday of Easter, we should meditate on Jesus' words to Thomas..."Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." John 20:29.

Jesus blesses us for believing and not doubting, though we have not seen Him either, yet! Let us fill the churches this Easter Season with an abundance of Alleluias praising His Holy name.

EASTER IS UPON US

St. Paul tells us... "now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since through a man came death, also through a man came the resurrection of the dead. For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive."
1 Cor 15:20

Let Us Pray...

ALMIGHTY God, who didst call blessed Cuthbert from following the flock to be a shepherd of thy people: mercifully grant; that as he sought in dangerous and remote places those who had erred and strayed from thy ways, so by his merits and prayers we may be enabled to seek the indifferent and the lost, and to lead them back unto thee. Through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

O Joseph, the righteous and chaste husband of the Most Pure Virgin, the foster-father of Christ our God, and the guardian of the Holy Family, we entreat thee:
Intercede for us before the Lord, that we may live in purity, humility, and obedience.
Thou who was entrusted with the care of the incarnate Word, and who lived in faithful service to God’s will,
Obtain for us the grace to follow Christ in poverty, patience, and peace. Pray for us, that we may die in thy holy company,
and be welcomed into the joy of the Kingdom of Heaven, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Does man no longer need to “sacrifice” to God? Is not your personal order of worship, work and leisure a pleasing sacrifice to God? If the answer is “Yes”, then why do we struggle to come to His altar with a contrite heart during Lent or any Sunday?
