The Rule of the Servants of the Good Shepherd a missionary Congregation for Ecumenical Catholicism
“So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” We embrace the three theological virtues: Faith looks to the past to see what God has done; Hope looks to the future in anticipation of what God will do; Love looks toward the present that we may realize the power of God to heal. Right now!
Therefore, we must now dedicate ourselves to the life of faithful service toward both God and others. In faith we, we express our loyalty to the Divine Master; In hope, we live in expectation of what God will do; In love, we embrace everyone.
This remains our rule: “faith, hope, and love, these three…”
As servants of the Good Shepherd, we promise to live out the mystery of our faith,
We surrender our lives to Him who died and was raised by the power of the Holy Spirit; We embrace the way of Jesus and promise to live in “holy poverty” without sensual attachments; We embrace the way of Jesus and promise to live in “holy chastity” Refusing to exploit others for one’s own desires.
Then, we obey Christ.
Poverty, chastity, and obedience Try it. You may like it!
First, we offer ourselves in Holy devotion to Christ; We will pray “without ceasing.”
Second, we provide pastoral care and sacramental justice to the lost sheep of the Catholic . “Feed My sheep Church: In this way we stand in solidarity with Jesus in His never-ending struggle for peace and justice both within and without the walls of the Church. We struggle for these things, too.
Third, we share the love of Jesus with everybody. No exceptions! We belong to each other because we belong to our Good Shepherd. We will work together for the Good Shepherd.
With hearts set on this vision and on this mission of Christ among we can never fail. Ecumenical Catholicism must become the Christianity of today and tomorrow! Christ is reuniting His church. Do not stand in His way! Rather, stand beside Him! Become an Ecumenical Catholic Servant of the Good Shepherd. Join us! We want you!

A Parable: Behold, I tell you a parable! Pay very close attention to what is said:

A community of friends had gathered in Orange County. California on one hot summer afternoon. They decided to take a holiday at the shore to see the California beach and view the great massive blue Pacific Ocean! Most of the participants brought with them boxes filled with shovels, pails, and other such instruments. They had decided that they would build castles of sand and as soon as they arrived, they immediately began their construction project not far from the breaking surf.

However, three of their party did not bring the required tools and implements for such an endeavor. Instead, each of the three brought just their own surfboards. They had another plan. They were determined to catch and ride the perfect wave! Their eyes searched the horizon where earth meets sea. waiting for the coming of the perfect wave! Are you with me so far?

In the distance they observe the water rise like a massive endless mountain range of salty and foaming liquid moving rapidly toward the waiting sunlit shore. The water continues to rise, then lifts into a wave of ocean water. This curling wave drives its way into the shore at an ever accelerating speed just as the young surfers with boards in hand, make a mad dash to the sea to meet and ride the incoming wave of rising seawater.

They catch the wave! As the wave carries the board ever higher and faster until, finally, the board reaches the top of the wave! Standing erect on the board the wave carries it for hundreds of yards! Oh, the thrill! standing on that board, warm sunshine on your face, cool wind through your flying hair, the cold spays of seawater beneath your feet! Exhilarating indeed! “I can actually fly!” you think.

Yet that same wave that carried the three surfers came violently crashing down upon the beach spilling like a tsunami over the carefully constructed sandcastles dissolving them into the sands of a vast southern California beach. Never to be seen again. The same wave that carried the surfers to the sky destroyed the carefully constructed castles of sand.

We have been called to ride the wave of the Spirit and not become distracted by building mere sandcastles.

Hear what the Spirit says to the Church!

Good Morning All,
We just wanted to invite you all to the Divine Mercy Chaplet, this Friday, May 17th at 6:30 pm at Saint Matthew Church. Bishop Peter has asked us to offer the Divine Mercy Chaplet every 3rd Friday of the month.

We will have a short summary of how the Devine Mercy Chaplet came about and teach it as well.

Hope to see you all there.

Blessings,

Deacon Tony and Lydia Russo

P.S. Invite whoever you would like to share the Divine Mercy with. All are welcome.

Like Mary, the mother of Jesus, we are called to participate in the saving work of her Son. In this way we, too, also become co-redeemers with Christ. Co-redemptrix is a proper title for the humble virgin mother. It must be a title applied to us. We are to be co-redeemers along with Christ! We are to rise with Him and save the whole world from the power of our real enemy, death, ha thanatos! “The last enemy to be destroyed is death itself.”

One of the distinctives of my ministry as a bishop of the Catholic Church is my advocacy for the equality of women and their calling and gifts for the sacramental ministry (It is all about ministry to His people, the “Church”) Jesus, after all, remains our only high priest; We are only priests insofar as we participate in the same priesthood of Christ our high priest. The ordained priest becomes “persona Christi” for the gathered community of faith, that human spiritual society called, “the Church.” However, ordaining women is not enough. Our ordained sisters need an ecclesial body (community) where they can live out the mystery of their priestly ministry. this is the reason why the ECC even exists… it is our house, We have spent centuries building it like some old Medieval cathedral! It was men who built this house. (some mistakes were made). It will be the women who will make this house a home. It is already happening! In another century there will be more women priests than men! Mark my words. Women are well suited to become shepherdesses for us! Why not? I believe in our sisters! Let’s honor them! We owe it to our mothers and our sisters and, more importantly, to our daughters! Let us put an end to gender inequality within Christianity, now! It is the time! The Holy Spirit is moving among us! Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary prays for us! Therefore, the ECC must survive. It must remain our mission She says to us, “Ordain my sisters!” I heard this as clear as day!

Evangelical spirituality has been around for centuries. Some say, mostly Evangelicals, that evangelical spirituality finds its roots in first century Judaism before standing on her own as the dominate form of the Christian experience summed up in the teachings and proclamation of the Apostle Paul! Other historians would say that Evangelicalism was born within the milieu of a Medieval Latin Christianity that looked to Augustine of Hippo for understanding and theology. So, it must be observed that Evangelical spirituality was born in the Roman Catholic Church of the Middle Ages. Surprising, no? Does that mean that Evangelical Christians are really Catholics? I wonder. We must examine this!

Did you know? There are flowers in heaven!

When we speak of God (divinity) we often say that one of the attributes of Divinity is that of omniscience. This Divine quality means more than merely that God “knows” everything. Nothing lay beyond the consciousness of the Divine. There is nothing God does not “know.” God’s wisdom encompasses all that can be known. Yet it remains more than that as if consciousness were the source of not only all knowledge (truth) but also of intelligence itself, the very ability to “know,” or apprehend, anything at all!

One cannot remain a disciple of Jesus apart from community. It is in the context of a new human community that the teachings of Jesus can be fully realized. The Way of Jesus cannot be appropriated apart from community. The teachings of Jesus assume the communal context for the shared human behavior we call, religion; a sociological human Phenomenon. Christianity is not a solo affair. You cannot “go it alone.” You need others.

To cause division and strife in the Church is nothing less than spitting in the face of Christ! Now, we must wipe the spittle off the loving face of our Lord. How do we do that? This is really the reason why I have become an Ecumenical Catholic. I think that ecumenical Catholicism is the Christianity of the future. It will catch fire in Asia! You will see it.! It is just beyond the horizon. but you can participate in this eschatological reality of an emerging Christianity that is both old and new at the same time! Now, the lights dim, and we await the rising of the curtain for the show to begin!

"Do whatever He tells you!" This is the only commandment that Mary has given us. All the more reason to obey Her. True Marian devotion always leads to the worship of Her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In the end, She remains the Mother of Christ. She remains our mother, too, for Jesus is our brother. Marian devotion is ultimately Christocentric (Christ centered) The closer I am to Mary all the more I am closer to Her Son, Jesus. She remains an invisible friend! She is quite real. I think I heard her whisper in my ear a few years ago when she commanded me to ordain her sisters. In 2001 I did. I have been at the center of a controversy ever since! Why would a Catholic bishop ordain a woman! How "liberal" is that?! Seems pretty "radical' to me! This is subversive! She agreed.
