Good Day Orange, as a reminder, the Orange Food Pantry will be open today, Wednesday, May 27th at 9:30 am until 2:30 pm.

The following will be featured: milk,
cereal, assortment of snacks, corn, rice, pancake mix, carrots, baby cookies, toothpaste, and variety of other items.

Come one, come all. You must be an Orange Township resident in order to participate.

This coming Sunday May31st will be Faith+works service featuring Ms. Rebecca Doggett as she talks about the life and legacy of her husband Reverend Joe Thomasberger and his dedication to community ministry and the support of the youth of Orange. The event will take place in the sanctuary and go from 3pm-5pm.

We are now nearly halfway through the year (time flies right) and we would like to celebrate some of the events we have done at from potlucks to concerts to speaking events, we have done it all at the HUUB and we will have even more this year in the coming summer and fall.

Celebrating Haitian Flag Day at our May 'Building Solidarity' potluck. director Martial Bonhomme shared a lecture on the history of revolution and persistence in Haiti and its meaning for the world today. We eat, sang, took respite from the days heat, and admired our flowering rose bush.

We will have our Ben Jones Community Garden open to the public at 2:30 pm today! The community is welcome to come visit our garden if you have been ever curious, also we have dates for our Garden volunteer days available if interested.

University of Orange announces our 10th Annual Music City Festival in Orange, NJ – MUSIC CITY FESTIVAL 10 will take place on May 15th, 16th, and 17th and kicks off an eight month celebration of musical culture in Orange.
Music City 10 will bring together the city’s musical community through three events spread across a weekend. The festival has long served as a gathering point for musicians and residents and continues to reflect the diversity and creativity of Orange.

“This year we look forward to building on the past decade of our work together. This three-day event will serve as the opening moment for a broader series of musical performances and workshops in public spaces planned throughout the year,” says Douglas Farrand, Music City’s co-director. This year’s 10th anniversary programs are supported by an A.R.T. Phase II grant from the NJ Economic Development Agency.

Featured festival-regular Ro Beau, a singer-songwriter, said “you always feel a part of the city’s energy, like the music is bringing life to our city.”

May 15th, 16th, and 17th will feature over 17 performances from local and regional artists, including DJ Masta Blasta and Riddim Explosion on the Friday night, Orange Steel Band and Jhette on Saturday afternoon, and Young Picassos and Janetza on Sunday afternoon
