We started in 2005 to serve the working poor and homeless living in weekly motels in Orange County, California. Over several years we observed that while we came just to serve, God was planting churches. We became more intentional about getting behind what He was blessing in January 2012. Since then God has expanded Motel Church to several dozen motels in three states with 1100 volunteers from ove
r 30 churches. Every week in every motel at least one decision is made for Christ and another person recommits their life to Him. We baptize new believers in motel pools and begin discipling them to raise them up to take over the running of the church in their motel. As people move from motel to motel they take their experience to the next motel church, where they can plug in as a leader. We have documented the processes and systems that God has been blessing and now groups from many new areas are working to get on the movement in their communities.
