Our Christmas lunch 🌟🎄🍁

It was Father's Day, June 18th, 1995 Brownsville Assembly, Pensacola Florida. It happened. For two years the church had been praying for revival. Little did they know that it would last for 5 years. It was May 24th, 1996 revival hit a little town in Missouri. Smithton, population at that time was 512. Thousands came from around the world for 2 years to Smithton and were blessed.
I've watched hours of videos from those meetings this past week at night. Sometimes hardly sleeping at all. I find myself weeping and praying for the lost as if I was there, even though the meetings have been over for a long time.
We have been praying for revival at The Summit Church in Opp. We don't know when it's going to happen. We simply believe it will. We're not making any plans. We have no program, place nor a time or day. For only God knows that. But we are praying. We know that our hearts are hungry to see a tremendous, life changing, revival to blow into Opp and surrounding town and cities. A revival that will change the very atmosphere of our city. A revival where people would fall on their face in their homes and jobs and streets under conviction. A revival that will welcome the homeless, the broken hearted, the alcoholics, the drug dealers and addicts to Jesus and the drug task force will cease because m**h and ma*****na is replaced with grace and mercy! A revival where the only "high" is on Jesus. A revival that is open to whatever and however God wants to do it. A revival of signs and wonders like we've never seen before. It will center on Him! All for His Glory! Never a man. A revival that will cause the crime rate to cease in our cities and our police will be busy directing traffic as people go to church and all night prayer meetings. A revival that will see people filled with the Spirit, healed and delivered and set free. A revival that will impact our youth and the power of God would fill the schools. And yes they will be able to pray in schools and school functions. A revival that will see our children leading their moms and dad to Christ. A revival that will see all churches filled to capacity. A revival that has no timetable.
Sounds like a dream doesn't it? If you study the great Welsh revivals, Azusa Street, the Argentina revivals that lasted more than 25 years, you will see a similar pattern. It's possible in Christ. When revival came businesses prospered, hospitals had fewer patients because people were healed. Crime stopped. Our prayer is not to be like Brownsville or Smithton or Toronto. We only desire it to be what God wants it to be. Not about a man or woman. Only about Jesus.
You may ask why Opp? My answer is why not? Because it's not about attention for Opp or Elba or Andalusia or anywhere else or a man. If it is it will fail. It's about God and the lost coming to him. It's about the moral decay and climate of our country. The only answer is not great leaders. It's a great God who I have no doubt hears the prayers of the hungry.
I told our church Sunday that it must began with us. Consecrated and committed to repentance first and foremost. A clean and pure vessel. Willing to scrub bathrooms or pray all night or fast for days. Preach if asked to do so. Ready at all times.
This is the season when God says he's taking away the benches from the sidelines. No more bench warmers. No more superstars. It's time. If you are hungry. Get ready.
Will you join us and pray for revival to come to, Opp Alabama and everywhere else in the region?

Been sometime since I've shared anything from the Summit. Tonight I've been thinking about this time of the year. Easter. You see the signs everywhere. The stores are filled with Easter eggs and candy and Easter outfits. Churches are getting ready for Resurrection Sunday. I've began to wonder what it was like 2,000 years ago. At the beginning, It wasn't a happy week. The disciples were about to lose their most trusted friend. For 2 years they followed Christ almost everywhere he went. They soaked up His teachings. They saw first hand miracles, healings and deliverances. They felt so much love from the Messiah. He was their world day and night for they had left all to follow Him. Then their world was turned upside down when Jesus left them and was carried away to be crucified. How hard it must to have been to have the one person in the world taken away from you. Their lives became dark and fearful. They were alone. They had many questions even though Jesus had told them that the Son of Man must suffer. It was hard, so hard. I can't imagine how they felt that week. Jesus was gone. And then he was unjustly and horribly crucified. The one that loved them. That called them friends. Some of you perhaps are in that same boat. Easter means nothing. The cares of this life have overwhelmed you. You are alone. The one you love has left you. Your family has forsaken you. You've cried and cried. Nothing helps. It's dark. You wonder why do I even have to live. Dark clouds engulf you. It's hard to breath. Walls are closing in. You are afraid. You don't know what to do. You try run away. Only to run deeper into the abyss of fear and hate and anger. So it was with the them. They were confused. Like you they had come to the end of life. And they wanted to die. Jesus had died and left them. Someone got his body and buried it. It was over. The hands of death had taken him away. They were heartbroken. But then in the your darkest lowest hour will come your brightest light. For out of the dark tomb of death Jesus suddenly breaks the chains of death, hell and the grave. And stood victorious with arms wide open pleading for those disciples, those lost sheep to come unto him. And from that day until this time tonight, through all the eons of time, those nail scarred hands of the shepherd, are calling the lost, the lonely, the heartbroken, the fearful, to come to him. For you see he had to die so that we may live. No longer alone. He came to bring you out of darkness into His light for He is the light of the world. Easter. 2000 years ago. It was a dark dark week. Until the Master returned. Easter 2017. The Master is here. He's here to shine His Light into every corner of the darkness of your life. He's here this very moment to touch and to heal and set you free from those chains of fear. He's here to give you peace and joy. He's here to wrap His arms of love around you even though you may feel so unlovable. He's here no matter what you've done. Will you dare call His name out. Will you please ask Him to help you, save you and become the light in your darkness. I promise you if this has touched you as you've read then your life will turn around. Old things are passed away and all are made new. You will be a new creation in Him. Give him a chance and let this Easter be a new day, a new beginning.

Revival.....Talking about it....Wondering about it.....Thinking about it....Asking about it...It will never happen....But if we pray....if we are truly committed to seeking the face of God. If we will appeal to heaven. It will began. But only if we pray.

A man may study because his brain is hungry for knowledge, even Bible knowledge. But he prays because his soul is hungry for God. -Leonard Ravenhill
