Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church Sharing the love of God in Opelousas since 1806 Louisiana Memorial is a church with deep roots in this community. Our worship is modern traditional.

It is the first Methodist church founded west of the Mississippi river. The people of Louisiana Memorial dedicate themselves to transforming this community in Christ. We practice historic orthodox Christianity through modern translation.

🚨 🚨 CHURCH CELEBRATION RESCHEDULED 🚨 🚨

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are rescheduling our church’s 220th anniversary. It will now be held on Sunday, January 10, 2027. In addition to celebrating our anniversary, we will also honor the anniversary of the first meeting of the Louisiana conference of the UMC, which was held at our church. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we hope to see you in January.
