Good Morning, Church Family. I hope that you will take a few minutes to read these scriptures. I know it’s long, but it is on my heart this morning. There is so much more to expound on involving these scriptures and subjects but I wanted to share a little bit with you. I encourage you to dig into God’s word💚. I love you guys so much and my heart is for Open Door Tabernacle.
Hosea 4:6- My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
1 Samuel 15: 23- For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…
Isaiah 30:1- Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Jeremiah 5:23- But my people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned away and abandoned me.
2 Timothy 3:16-17-
16. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
17. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
1 Corinthians 14:33- God is not the author of confusion,
1 Corinthians 14:30- Let all things be done decently and in order.
1 Samuel 15: 23- (KJV)For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…
True worship must align with biblical truth.
John 4:24- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 16:13- Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:
The Bible emphasizes that the house of God is a sacred space requiring humility, awe, and orderly conduct.
There is an importance of approaching and treating the sanctuary with utmost respect.
Hebrews 12:28-29:
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29. For our God is a consuming fire.
Leviticus 19:30: "… reverence my sanctuary. I am the Lord."
1 Timothy 3:15: "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
The word “ought” in verse 15 is the Greek word dei,
which describes a necessity or something that isn’t optional.
In other words, this is mandatory behavior.
The word for “behaveth” is from the Greek word anastrepho, which means to conduct oneself appropriately.
It is inappropriate to be disrespectful in the house of God or to act unbecomingly in the presence of other believers who are trying to seek God or to prepare for His work.
Jeremiah 7:30- For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord; they have set their abomination in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
What is our abomination that we have brought to God’s house?
It could be as simple as “self”.
Ecclesiastes 5:1: Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil
Habakkuk 2:20: "The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him."
Psalm 89:7: "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
Psalm 5:7: "But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Psalm 96:9: "O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
Because the sanctuary is a special place, there are certain activities that we must be very cautious about because they have potential for distracting our focus or that of others.
We have allowed ourselves to become comfortable where the presence of the Lord abides.
Irreverence to the house of God also involves treating it like it’s a restaurant, coffee shop, etc.
We will comply with secular venues that state no food or drinks.
But rebellion will raise its head when asked to have respect for the things of God.
Bring you a water, if necessary, but cultivate a reverence for the house of God.
Isaiah 59:1-2-
1.Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2.But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Open Door, do you have prayers that go unanswered? You don’t understand why?
I challenge you, Let’s start with examining our Reverence for the things of God?
May our prayer be, chasten me God, convict me!
Hebrews 12:6- For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Proverbs 27:5-6
Open rebuke is better than secret love.
