This week, 300 United Methodist leaders from around the world are gathering in Calgary, Alberta, for the Bishops’ Leadership Gathering—an opportunity to dream, discern, and imagine the future of The United Methodist Church.
Here’s something pretty cool: Two of those 300 leaders are dear friends of Foundry!
Rev. Kelli Hitchman-Craig is participating on behalf of the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women (GCSRW), and Rev. Tony Jeck is representing the Alabama-West Florida Conference. Tony serves as Director of the Auburn Wesley Foundation, one of our partner ministries, and his wife, Stephanie, serves on Foundry’s staff as Artist-in-Residence and Director of Operations.
For a three-year-old church plant in Opelika, having such close connections to a global gathering of church leaders is pretty remarkable!
We’re grateful for Kelli and Tony and hopeful that the conversations happening in Calgary will bear good fruit for the future of our church.
Here’s to thoughtful conversations, holy imagination, and the possibility that the Holy Spirit might surprise us all.
