Our first All In of the fall was a blast! 🙌 All In is when our Jr. High and High School students come together for one combined student gathering—and it was a night full of fun, fellowship, and growing together!

From nachos and Nine-Square to a little No Caller ID, we had a great time together while talking about the importance of Scripture Memory and how knowing God’s Word helps us hear Him clearly when He calls. 📖👂

Are ye battle ready?! 🛡️⚔️

In our Doing Life God's Way message series, we've been learning that life falls like dominoes because of the way that different areas of life impact each other.
Yesterday, we looked at the next domino in our Doing Life God’s Way series: Authority.

Pastor Thad taught us 3 key Biblical truths about Authority:

1. God is the ultimate authority

2. God chooses to work through human authority to accomplish His purposes and bring order to the world.

3. All human authority is from God.

The Bible teaches us, as followers, to obey our leaders and make it a joy for them (Hebrews 13:17), and as leaders, to use our position to serve. In both positions, we are called to love others by serving them.

Yesterday, Pastor Matt continued our message series on Doing Life God's Way by teaching us the 5 Attitudes of Success, which are:
1. The Fear of the Lord
2. Trust in the Lord
3. Humility
4. Teachability
5. Patience

We have to choose these attitudes by faith by making attitude adjustments everyday. Start by praying to the Lord, "Today, I set my heart before you, to think, feel, and act respectfully, confidently, humbly, teachably, and patiently in all things."🙏
Ephesians 4:22-24 says,
"You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

Which attitude of success will you start to put on today?✅

Our CIV Student Ministry(CSM) had a grand ole time kicking off their new "Battle Ready" year with medieval remixes of popular music, fun games, food, and decor.
Many knights, maidens, squires, superheroes, crusaders, and soldiers attended!

They played games like shielding dodgeballs to block the enemy's attacks, and made arrows to represent the enemy thoughts that come our way, all to help get Battle Ready.

Our Jr. High Students meet on Sundays from 10:45-12:15pm and High Schoolers on Wednesdays from 6:45-9:00pm. All students are welcome!

This week, we began our new message series, Doing Life God’s Way!📖

Pastor Thad showed us five Kingdom shifts that followers of Jesus experience. These Kingdom shifts are completely upside down from the way of the world, and they lead to a blessed life because doing life God’s way IS the blessed life:

We…

1. Lose our life to save it.
2. Treasure the lowly.
3. Experience joy amid adversity.
4. Gain by giving.
5. Can be strong through weakness.

Last weekend, Pastor Matt led us through Psalm 2, pairing each of its stanzas with images and prayers that we can use when we are faced with situations that cause us fear and anger 🗻

He encouraged us to use the feeling of being intimidated as a notification to remind us to pray and ask for God’s help. We often reduce prayer to a small thing we do when we have run out of bigger options, but Pastor Matt reminded us that prayer is the means that God has chosen to expand His rule on this Earth. When we respond to trials by lifting our eyes to the Lord and closing them in prayer, we will not be shaken.

Last weekend, Pastor Thad preached on Psalm 46:1-11 🗻

The Psalms can act as a guidebook for how to pray when we are faced with uncertainty.

We build our “refuge reflexes” every day! We pick where to go with the uncertainties of life. When we face financial hardship, we run to a financial advisor. When we face emotional hardship, we run to a friend or family member. It’s easy to build a refuge based on what you can see, and the stability you think it is going to offer, but this Psalm says that even the mountains can move. This is why we should run to God. He never changes, and He is our refuge and strength in times of trouble. When we trust in Him amid uncertainties, we can experience peace, joy, and security.
