Paul’s instruction to “Press On”, the Parable from Matthew, teaching us to be faithful and worthy “tenants” in God’s Vineyard – and, the big one - the Ten Commandments. God’s people are delivered to the promised land – to God’s “Vineyard” in order that they might be tied in obedience to God’s way. A way of faithfulness, love, worship, and grace.

The ground beneath Moses’ feet became holy not only because God was present, but because God had a purpose there.

God had seen the suffering of an oppressed people. God had heard their cries. And God called an imperfect, uncertain person to help lead them toward freedom.

God still meets ordinary people in ordinary places. God still opens our eyes to suffering. God still calls us to genuine love, courageous justice, generous hospitality, and faithful service.

When we wonder, “Who am I to do this?” God’s answer remains: “I will be with you.”

Join us this Sunday as we consider what it means to answer God’s call from holy ground.
