Thank you to everyone who had volunteered to work the church’s booth at the CBF this weekend. Due to the incoming severe weather, the event has been cancelled.

We will see everyone Sunday for normal services!

Covered Bridge Festival Canceled! City of Oneonta, Alabama, Oneonta Downtown District,

We regret to announce that the 42nd Annual Covered Bridge Festival sponsored by the Blount-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce for this Saturday, October 10, in downtown Oneonta has been canceled due to the threat of severe weather.

As I sit here on this beautiful Thursday afternoon and think back to the gorgeous weather we enjoyed at last year's festival, it makes this decision even more disappointing. However, with the possibility of heavy rain, flooding, and high winds on Saturday, the safety of our vendors, volunteers, and the public must come first. We can control many things but the weather is not one of them.

We know how much everyone looks forward to this annual tradition, and after months of planning and preparation, we are certainly disappointed too!

Unfortunately, rescheduling is simply not possible. Between coordinating vendor schedules, volunteers, law enforcement, city services, and entertainment, there are just too many moving parts to make another date work. The festival is a fundraiser for the Chamber and we will incur a financial loss but we made the decision that is safest for everyone involved.

We sincerely appreciate our vendors, volunteers, the City of Oneonta, and our community for their continued support and understanding.

Vendors, please check your email for additional information regarding the cancellation.

Thank you for supporting the Blount-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
