Odilia has been the patron saint of the Crosier Fathers and Brothers since 1287, when she appeared to Br. John Novelan, osc, a member of the Crosier priory in Paris. She appeared to him three times, then led him to her place of burial in Cologne, Germany, and directed that her relics be taken to the motherhouse of the Crosier Order in Huy, Belgium. Along the journey, numerous healing miracles of t
he eyes were reported as people came in contact with the relics. Odilia was brought to the Crosier Priory in Onamia, Minnesota, and a national shrine in her honor was established in the priory church, where the reliquary is enthroned. Each year, the National Shrine of St. Odilia receives tens of thousands of prayer intentions from across the country asking for St. The Crosiers prayerfully attend to the burdens and hopes of our many spiritual pilgrims, particularly with our Masses and monthly Novenas in honor of St. Odilia offered at the National Shrine. Odilia promised to shower a stream of graces upon the Crosier Order and upon all who invoke her intercession in their hour of need. Many cures, especially of diseases of the eyes, are obtained through her intercession.
