Presbyterian Church of the Master

Presbyterian Church of the Master Welcome to Presbyterian Church of the Master in Omaha, Nebraska. We are a congregation of faithful Christians, committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ

Presbyterian Church of the Master (PCM) is a gathering of God's people whose mission is to proclaim the Good News of God's love, to celebrate that love, and demonstrate that love to the world. We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church USA, within the boundaries of the Synod of Lakes and Prairies and Missouri Valley Presbytery. We worship and work together with joy here at PCM. We invite yo

u to ask us about our faith, our mission and our life of ministry. PCM is a contemporary church community with a friendly, casual atmosphere and serious approach to spirituality. All are welcome. Children are a valued part of our worship service. Childcare is provided for babies and toddlers in the nursery. Our facility is flexible and accommodates anyone with special needs. We celebrate Communion the second Sunday of every month and everyone who puts their faith in Christ is welcome at the Lord’s table.

Happy Arbor Day, everybody! So, do you have a favorite species of tree?

Traditionally recognized on the last Friday of April annually, National Arbor Day is dedicated to planting, nurturing, and celebration of trees!

"Christians are instructed to make this earth look more like heaven. Plant trees, care for trees, and preserve old forests. This is a job for believers." ~from Reforesting Faith by Matthew Sleeth, MD

Do you have a favorite tree? We'd love to hear about it! Please share something about your favorite tree in the Comments.

Friends,

Our Earth Care Action Team invites you to join in a timely and faithful response to an urgent concern affecting God’s creation.

H.R. 1897, sponsored by Rep. Bruce Westerman, includes provisions that would significantly weaken the Endangered Species Act—our nation’s most effective law for protecting biodiversity and preventing the extinction of vulnerable species. Thanks to this law, nearly all listed species have been saved from extinction, and hundreds are on a path toward recovery. At a time when the climate crisis continues to threaten the richness of life on Earth, this protection is more important than ever.

As people of faith, we are called to care for creation and to speak on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. We encourage you to take a few moments to contact your member of Congress and urge them to oppose any efforts to weaken the Endangered Species Act. You can take action by clicking on the link in the comments.

This invitation comes through our shared ministry as an Earth Care Congregation of the PC(U.S.A.). Thank you for your faithful witness and care for all that God has made!

Thank you to everyone who has already made a pledge—your generosity is moving us forward.

We’re not there yet, and there’s still time to be part of this three-year journey.

Below is the video that was shown in Worship this morning. If you missed it, please take a couple of minutes to view it.

On this day of visibility, we give thanks for our Transgender siblings.
For their courage, their truth-telling, their refusal to disappear.

God of Creation, give us eyes to see one another more clearly, hearts that honor each person’s belovedness, and the will to stand against harm in all its forms.

Today is Mr. Roger’s Day! And at PCM, we’ll be carrying the celebration over to Sunday! You’re invited to share in the festivities by wearing your cardigan or other sweater to worship on Sunday morning!

Did you know that Fred McFeely Rogers, a.k.a. Mister Rogers of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, was an ordained Presbyterian minister? After graduating from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, he was commissioned by the United Presbyterian Church of the U.S.A. (UPCUSA) to continue his ministry through children's television programming.

Mr. Rogers went on to revolutionize children’s TV, becoming a quintessential childhood figure in the lives and hearts of millions. Today we celebrate his memory and legacy. Happy Mr. Rogers Day!

Omaha Public Schools aren’t in session, so we’re having to make a call about winter weather on our own. Based upon the streets and sidewalks in front of our own houses, we don’t believe that staff and volunteers can be guaranteed a safe trip to the church today. Therefore, PCM is closed today (Monday, March 16).
