Evangelium Institute - Omaha

Evangelium Institute - Omaha EI is a Catholic 501(c)3 organization that provides faith formation for teachers and other adults.

The Evangelium Institute seeks to bring a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith to Catholic school teachers, those in deacon formation, college students, catechists and other interested adults. EI staff provides formation in the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as Spiritual Formation and practical applications, with an emphasis on personal relationships with Jesus Christ and an encour

agement towards personal prayer. In addition to our dynamic presentations, we offer retreats, small group formation, bible study, and optional spiritual direction, facilitated by EI staff in order to create and foster an atmosphere where our participants can speak about and share their faith with their colleagues, students, and those people they meet in their everyday lives.

Though the Evangelium Institute will be closing its doors, we remain deeply grateful for the prayers, generosity, and support we have received throughout the years. Your kindness has allowed us to accompany and strengthen our Catholic school teachers in their faith lives.

It has been a true honor to serve these dedicated educators and to collaborate with so many individuals who have shared in our mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We carry immense gratitude for all who have been part of this journey. โœ๐Ÿ™

We had a beautiful and grace-filled retreat today with the teachers of St. Columbkille and Saint Margaret Mary schools!

Our time together centered on peace and trust, drawing inspiration from Searching for and Maintaining Peace by Fr. Jacques Philippe. It was a gift to step away from the busyness of daily life and reflect on the Lordโ€™s invitation to deeper trust in Him.

Throughout the day, teachers had the opportunity to spend time in adoration, receive the sacrament of confession, and come together to celebrate Mass. What a joy it was to witness so many faithful educators taking time to nourish their own spiritual lives.

We are incredibly grateful for their openness, their witness, and their commitment to growing in faithโ€”not only for themselves, but for the students they serve each day. Please keep them in your prayers!

โœจ Read about our recent Teacher Retreat on โ€œPeace & Happiness,โ€ where educators reflected on trust in God through the wisdom of saints like Teresa of รvila, Francis de Sales, and Thรฉrรจse of Lisieux โ€” and were renewed through Adoration, Confession, and Mass.

๐Ÿ Plus, donโ€™t miss our reminder that the solemnities of Joseph (March 19) and the Annunciation (March 25) are days to feast โ€” even in Lent!

We had a wonderful retreat yesterday with the teachers of LHF Lindsay Holy Family, Humphrey St. Francis School and Archangels Catholic High School!

Our EI instructor, Andrew Logan, led thoughtful and inspiring conferences centered on the theme of โ€œPeace & Happiness.โ€ Teachers then enjoyed a delicious lunch, followed by Adoration, Confession, and Mass โ€” with plenty of quiet time for prayer and reflection throughout the day.

So grateful for this opportunity to pause, pray, and be renewed together. Praise

Today we begin Lent with Ash Wednesday. When we receive ashes, weโ€™re reminded of our need for Godโ€™s mercy and our call to turn our hearts back to Him.

Even the littlest members of our Church (like EI staffer, Abbie Lamphereโ€™s baby, Maximus!) can receive ashes. Itโ€™s a simple, beautiful sign that from the very start, we belong to Christ and are part of the life of faith.

Praying this Lenten season draws our schools, teachers, and families closer to the Lord through prayer, sacrifice, and love. โœ๏ธ

On this special day, we remember when Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the Temple to present Him to the Lord and offer thanks for the gift of His presence among us. Itโ€™s a beautiful reminder of Godโ€™s faithfulness and light in our lives โ€” as the prophet Simeon recognized Jesus as โ€œa light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory for your people Israel.โ€ (Luke 2:32)

As we reflect on this feast, letโ€™s take time to offer our own prayers of gratitude and recommit ourselves to bringing Christโ€™s light into our families, communities, and world. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿ™
