just a reminder that we could use some more Bakers here at St. John’s. If anybody would like to contribute to this ministry, but doesn’t know how to bake the bread let us know and we will match you up with a mentor. If you do know how to bake the bread of the Eucharist, and you are not currently signed up we will be happy to get you connected with Helen Sinos who is our coordinator.

Geni has been shopping today because it is the start of a new ad week at Baker’s and also for those that qualify, senior citizen discount day! Please remember even the school is out. We are still working with the social workers from the schools and also the women’s center for advancement. Hunger doesn’t take a vacation.

Working today with Omaha Rapid Response, Hauling branches and helping to coach 6 High School Students and 3 advisors from Mexico Missouri. I did not come empty handed either, I was able to bring a check from Philoptochos. we have a pre-approved budget line for local disasters…. which we refilled after we made a big donation for the fires is western Nebraska.

We are always looking to be the best stewards of God’s money that you have trusted us with. Earlier this month we made our annual donation to the Global Birthing Center in Haiti as part of their Mother’s Day match campaign. Our funds have now also allBags of Fun Omahap our third-quarter donation to Bags of Fun Omaha so that it would be included in this match! A smaller but mighty group today for lunch, hope you can join us next month. Look forward to information for June 18th, EDIT: the luncheon will now be held at red lobster on South 72nd in order to accommodate fasting selections. Thank you to all who joined us as we celebrated mothers -those of us who are mothers and those of us who have mothers! Thank you to Sophia and Morgan, who share this event and to the honorary bar, chairman Mr. Bill! Our next coffee hour will be our ice cream social for Father’s Day.
