We are not a part of any denomination. We only want to be the church, on a local level, that our Lord came to this earth to establish (Matthew 16:18), the church that we all read about in the Bible, nothing more and nothing less. The Bible is our only authority as to what we believe, teach and practice doctrinally (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We meet together on the first day of every week to partake of t

he Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7), study and teach God’s word (2 Timothy 4:2), sing praises to His name a ca****la (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16), petition Him in prayer (1Timothy 2:1; James 5:13, 16) and give back to Him from the financial blessings with which He has blessed us individually (1 Corinthians 16:2). We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30 AM for Bible classes and at 10:30 AM for worship. We meet every Sunday evening at 6:00 PM for worship and every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM for mid-week Bible classes. Teaching the Bible as the authoritative word of God is emphasized at all of our regular services. Our mission is to reach out to people in the Omaha area, across the country and around the world with the saving message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to help as many people as possible learn that there is forgiveness and salvation “in Christ” (Romans 8:1). As a person believes that Jesus Christ is his Lord and savior (John 3:16), repents of his sin (Acts 3:19), confesses his faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32-33) and submits to baptism “into Christ” (Romans 6:3), the guilt of all of his sins will be cleansed by the blood that our Lord shed on the cross (Acts 22:16; Hebrews 9:27-28). As one who has been born again spiritually (John 3:3, 5), he can then begin to live his new life in faithfulness to God (Revelation 2:10). At Sunny Slope, we take very seriously our mission to teach the gospel around the world. We try to be aggressive in pursuing that mission. As already indicated, we heavily emphasize the teaching of God’s word at all of our regular services. We regularly, and in very focused ways, strive to communicate the gospel throughout Omaha and its surrounding communities by means of radio, television and the various newspapers in the area. We are heavily involved in prison ministry, both locally and in other areas. Through this website, we offer Bible studies through the regular mail all across this nation and literally around the world, for free! We also distribute thousands of audio lessons on CD and cassette, also for free! We take seriously our identity as the Lord’s church. Our aim is to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. You are always welcome to worship and study with us at any time.
