"So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us?" -Romans 8:31 TPT

The question that Paul asks here is interestingly rhetorical. If God, the almighty creator of the universe, is standing with you, who could successfully stand against you? If the same God that raised Jesus from the dead is fighting your battles, who could possibly defeat you? The answer is obvious: no one. No circumstance, person, or power of evil can separate you from God or take away the salvation you have in Jesus Christ.

Prayer for you: O Mighty King, thank you for standing with me in every battle I fight. Thank you for walking beside me for every step, both good and bad. When I face trials, remind me of your steady presence in my life, and help me to rely on your everlasting power that is always at work. Thank you for your unwavering devotion and love to me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

“David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” -1 Samuel 17:45 NIV

Swords, spears, and javelins are fearsome weapons, especially wielded by a 9ft giant. David, a young man of average height, didn’t look at the intimidating warrior in front of him and grab every weapon he could find; he simply trusted his God. “I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty,” he declared. He knew the name of the one true God was more powerful than any weapon or warrior that came against him.

Prayer for you: LORD Almighty, I thank you that your mighty power fights the battles that look impossible for me to fight. I come against every attack of the enemy over me and my family, and I declare in Jesus’ name that he has no power here. I proclaim the name of Jesus over every aspect of my life and my family, replacing darkness with the light of your Son. Thank you for covering me with your strength and protection every step of the way. In Jesus name, Amen.

"Each time He said, 'My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.' So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me." -2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT

If anyone experienced feeling weak, vulnerable, or defenseless, it was the Apostle Paul. He suffered quite a lot to tell people about Jesus. But he says that he boasts about his weaknesses because he knows God's power is still working through him. Like Paul, we will experience feeling weak or defenseless. Rather than feeling ashamed or discouraged, we can be encouraged the same way that Paul was: we have God's grace, and the power of Christ is working through us.

Prayer for you: Powerful God, thank you for your mighty power that continues to work through me even in my weakest moments. Help me to trust in your unfailing strength whenever I feel defenseless or weak. Remind me that I can boast of my weaknesses because it gives those around me the opportunity to see your power at work. Thank you for blessing me with your all-sufficient grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
