Please join us in celebrating our May Kid City Volunteer of the Month, Julie Schommer! We are so thankful for her servant's heart and love for children.
In 2019, Julie was led to serve out of a desire for not only children to hear God's word, but also for their parents to be able to hear God's word as well. She shared that, "My love for children and knowing I was helping parents be able to attend church with their full attention led me to want to serve in the children's ministry."
Julie's love for children shows through everything she does as a part of our Kid City Volunteer Team. She shared that, "It has been such a joy to get to know the sweet kids and their families while also meeting other adults and young adults serving in toddler town. I love seeing how the kids grow throughout their time in the 2's classroom - -their vocabulary, their memory of worship songs - it is so fun to watch them grow!"
She also shared that one of her most memorable experiences in Kid City was while working on an activity involving two-year-olds and "digging for grain." She shared that while it was unbelievable how much rice went flying in less than two seconds, the kids loved it and were able to have some hands on learning surrounding the day's Bible story.
Julie, thank you for loving the Kid City littles and for joyfully allowing God to use you for His Glory!
