✨ GEEZ LOUISE… A REFLECTION 🪞

Sunday Sermon Reflection | John 18:1–11 (NKJV)

This morning’s sermon reminded me of something we see every day in today’s culture:

Everybody wants control… until life doesn’t go according to plan.

In John 18:1–11, Jesus wasn’t surprised by betrayal, politics, power struggles, public pressure, or people changing sides. Judas arrived with influence, authority, and a crowd behind him—yet Jesus remained calm, purposeful, and obedient.

Sound familiar?

Today we live in a world driven by headlines, outrage, social media opinions, economic uncertainty, division, and the pressure to react immediately. Everyone is reaching for the sword—whether through words, assumptions, division, status, power, or fear.

But Jesus showed another way.

He didn’t panic.
He didn’t chase public approval.
He didn’t lose His assignment trying to defend Himself.

Instead, He trusted GOD’s greater plan.

Maybe that’s our lesson today:

Not every battle requires our response.
Not every betrayal deserves our energy.
Not every cultural moment deserves our peace.

Some situations require prayer over panic… wisdom over noise… and purpose over performance.

Because even when society feels uncertain—GOD is still sovereign.

Geez Louise… maybe true strength isn’t controlling everything around us. Maybe it’s trusting GOD while everything around us feels out of control.

🙏🏾 Sunday June 7, 2026 Sermon Summary 🙏🏾

Led by Sr. Pastor Rev. Brian Page

📖 Scripture: John 8:1–11 (NKJV / NIV)
🎯 Theme: “Think Before You Throw. Think Before You Cross.”

🔥Misery Loves Company

✨ Message Summary

Today’s message challenged us to reflect deeply on how we treat others—especially in moments of public failure, public opinion, and public judgment. Drawing from John 8:1–11, Pastor Page brought us to one of the most powerful moments in Scripture: the woman caught in adultery. The religious leaders publicly brought her before JESUS, prepared to condemn her, embarrass her, and punish her. Yet JESUS did something unexpected.

1.HE did not excuse sin.
2.HE confronted hypocrisy.
3.Then HE declared:

«“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first. — John 8:7»

One by one, the accusers walked away.

📖 Meaning of John 8:1–11

🪨 Before You Throw Stones—Examine Your Hands

This passage reminds us that while accountability matters, judgment without self-examination becomes dangerous.

Pastor Page challenged us to consider:

•Who are we condemning?
•What role did others play?

Why do people often rush to publicize mistakes while ignoring grace, truth, and restoration?
---

⚖️ Public Scandal Does Not Cancel GOD'S Mercy

In today’s culture, failures are often magnified and spread quickly.

The message reminded us:

•The higher the position, the greater the responsibility.
•But no title, platform, status, or mistake removes a person from needing grace, accountability, and redemption.
---
🤝🏾 It Takes More Than One Story

The woman stood publicly while others remained unseen.

The message challenged us to ask difficult questions:

1.Who else was involved?
2.Why is one person carrying the weight of public condemnation?

1.Truth matters.
2.Justice matters.
3.Context matters.
---
🛡️ Stone Throwers Will Set You Up

Pastor Page reminded us that not everyone who surrounds you is assigned to protect you.

1.Some people gather information.
2.Some amplify mistakes.
3.Some prepare stones.

But GOD sees beyond appearances.

And JESUS still stands between HIS people and unnecessary destruction.
--
📖 Additional Reflection

Matthew 9 — JESUS came for the sick, not the self-righteous.
Matthew 12 — Mercy remains greater than sacrifice.
---
🔥 Key Takeaways

🪨 Think before you throw stones.

🚧 Think before you cross lines that damage people.

👀 GOD sees what others miss.

⚖️ Accountability should never remove compassion.

🙏🏾 Grace and truth can exist together.

✨ JESUS delivers people from shame and public condemnation.
---
💭 Closing Encouragement

Be careful becoming comfortable judging others. Because the same hands that throw stones may one day need grace. The same voices that accuse may one day seek mercy. And the same JESUS who protected the woman in John 8 still restores, redeems, and delivers today.

Before you throw…

1. Pause.
2. Pray.
3. Reflect.

Because He who is without sin—cast the first stone. 💚
